RX-7 Question
If you change your oil from Synthetic oil to non and when you start the car it smokes and fills the block with uhh smoke :uhh: is that norm? or bad?

bad

It's good if you think black smoke is magical.
|
Lol black smoke magical...
|
That's odd. The opposite is more plausible. It's not a good idea to switch to a real synthetic (Polyol Ester) if the car has many miles on dino and hasn't had oil seals recently replaced. I've seen leaking develop and smoking in a friend's Miata recently (Leaks everywhere and turbo smoke).
Black smoke, however, indicates rich mixture. Blue to bluish white smoke indicates the burning of oil more typically. Paul. |
