Personally I'm disappointed, because I'd like to see Mazda leading the charge with the return of reasonably priced fun rwd vehicles (Coupes and sedans).

If anything I think we need to thank hyundai for stimulating the market for cheap/fun rwd sport coupes.

Yeah its a hyundai and it is similar to a g37 but for the price (10k cheaper!) it gives lower income individuals another option, even if it is the I4 turbo.

Last time we had a I4 turbo rwd coupe was when?

Thanks hyundai

The Z looks pretty good, the front needs some work, needs to be a little more aerodynamic instead of square-ish like the GTR. If Nissan made something similiar to this concept, I would be game. I wish they would slap the 370 Z badge on this and get rid of the next 370 Z design. Or better yet make a up to date Z32 Twin turbo Z again, Nissan would have my money and my soul for sure!

I also feel the same way about the Hyundai as one of the above poster mentioned, its meh.... It just looks to dang close to a G35/37.Hyundai needed some more origionality when they designed this next gen tiburon,i give them credit for stepping up the power to play with the big boys, but design wise, its a cheap knock off copy cat design of the Infiniti. I feel the same way about the Altima coupe.... Nissan could have designed the Altima coupe better, its like they took two halves from both the G35 and the Altima sedan and welded the rear of the G35 to the front of a Alima sedan, sorry Nissan thats the cheap way out for designing a car.......

if the new 240Z is gonna be a fast back like the M Coupe... wow wow wow! Is this the lighter Z that Nissan has been talking about? Is it a replacement for the 350z or an addition?

ps: is that Anakin standing at the back???

Supposedly in addition, as the 350Z is moving considerable up-market in 2010 w/ the 370Z pictured below.

correct me if I am wrong, but I am pretty sure it was stated that the concept is just a design from a Fairlady Z fan, and nowhere near a concept from Nissan designers - that means this is no where a possible production car, but more so just a dream car that someone decided to draw up.

Like I said, I might be wrong, and read it incorrectly, so yeah...

You are correct but there has been speculation/talk of a small/simple RWD coupe for a while now that would slot below the 2010 370z. As cool as the design study z above looks, I don't think we will see anything that looks like that.

man, we can only dream. if nissan actually came out with a 240z that looked like that, they'd have my money for sure.

its too bad, that concept looks beautiful.

It's just a 350Z test mule. They're testing the new drivetrain, suspension, and possibly a shortened chassis under the 350Z body panels. The 2010 model should look fairly distinguishable from the current Z.

To everyone here that thinks nissan is going to slot another Z under the current/ upcoming Z, this not going to happen. The 240Z is not going to come back because it has already evolved into the 350Z. Now, what nissan is going to bring back and is going to be slotted under the Z is the 240SX/ Silvia.

I think the pic posted is actually a disguised 2010 Z or close to it Look at the difference between it and the current. The bottom pic was the early test mule which clearly was comprimised 350z body panels thrown on the shortened chassis.

Jrichter your right, the covered up Z suppose to be the next gen Z....unfortunately.

Being lighter and more powerful i am sure it will scoot pretty good, but it still doesn't hide the fact that the body design is still going to be ugly.

On a side note i saw a new Maxima on the road and I wanted to barf! They totally screwed up the 4DSC(4 door sports car) moto of old. Its a big boat , and I meen big as i drove along side of it compared to my 8. 290 Hp /260 Trq gets all absorbed by 3600lbs of lard......shameful!

People are closed minded. They are afraid of change. Thats why people always talk about the "new rx7" or "new 240z". There will never be a new one of these cars. There will be an RX-9 and a 4??Z, but people are uncomfortable with the unknown.
