yeah you gotta wonder why its only automatic if they are aiming it towards enthusiasts and "driving excitement".

Maybe it's a bigger push for enthusiasts to get the GXP version when it goes on sale.

 

its because a hotter gxp8 with a 6 spd and 402 hp is coming out later this year.

 

I was actually considering this car for awhile, but then they are only making the GT in auto. Didn't want to wait for the GXP.

 

i test drove one and i told them to call me when they get a manual in. you never know. i might trade in my 8. YEAH RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!

 

So is this confirmed? Also I think the UK version (Vauxhall VXR8) has 420hp.

 

It's to bad it didn't keep those wheels they look nice...

 

I think the GXP will have those wheels and they are nice looking.

 

G8 potential? APS twin turbo setup for G8 GT and Holden Commodore HSV

This Holden is sick looking. Pontiac should have just tacked their badge straight on to it for the GXP version. I love the looks of the Holden front end. I would attempt to import the front clip from this car if I got a Pontiac G8.

I agree. All the reviews I have read have been positive. Not sure what to make of rental fleets getting these cars since GM was suppose to be only importing a set number of cars. My guess would have been retail only. Also because I thought GM was losing money on each one sent over here.

Regardless, I will be curious how the car sells. My guess is people will hear V8/rear drive and shy away from it when in reality, mileage figures are not far off from the V6.

 

damn APS is doing big things, their twin turbos give Z and G35s close to 500whp the LS2 version is even more amazing for factory engines not meant to stand the punishment of FI

 

Great bang for the buck for starting $30K. Glad GM had the guts to bring it over. Hope it is a success for them so they don't turn off the tap.
