yes, indeed! I love the vintage/cafe-racer look... I just found one on craigslist today that I might pick up. It would make for a nice little project.

i love that bike. a fellow class mate had one. he use to park his bike next to ours. so it would be like 30 sport bikes and his 1 awesome looking CB550. i use to stare at it for a good 10mins each morning. Just one of those bikes, or cars that makes you wonder what the designer was thinking, when he drew up the plans.

Cafe Racer bikes are traditionally smaller CCs and light weight. They have the low hanging handle bars and the rounded off seat. They usually have a subtle yet cool paint jobs. They can be made from any bike today but most like Triumph and Norton but you are seeing lots of Japanese bikes today being used for the the builds. You can say they were the original sport bikes.

Some say the modern "rice rocket" is basically today's Cafe Racer.

Cafe Racers started in Europe. Bobber bikes started in the US.

LOL after this thread I'm seriously thinking of buying a bike to build vs. project car. I have been wanting to build an old school car but now thinking of an old school bike.

I found two good cycles on craigslist but money is way too tight right now

Both of these would be great to turn into a cafe racer.
