Actually the Commodore in the flesh looks quite good, its fresh, bold and has hoot-spa..
From a mechanical point of view the SS has the 6.liter V8 made in America (LS2?)exported to Australia then sent back to you guys in a Pontiac G8.
Car also a wide foot print..wheelbase and track..
I have some reservations on what the final G8 will look like..
IMO the Monaro's original front looked better than the GTO you guys ended up with.

Many would agree, hence the large number of Monaro conversions being done by GTO owners . I hope Pontiac re-thinks redoing the front and rear fascia(like the GTO). I find the Aussie versions much more appealing and I think many more US buyers will as well.

I think this is easily one of the smarter descisions GM has made lately...
Yep, the Monaro front has always looked better and I would have definately gone for the front end conversion if I had a GTO.

Whoohooo Slowly Pontiac is going all rear wheel drive!!!
I just wish they left the friggin' name alone. G8 just doesnt instill any I dunno passion in me really. Just sounds well boring and if anything should be a smaller version of a Hummer yanno H2 so a smaller version would be labled as a G haha ok not that funny but hopefully my point is clear.

^ Thanks for the link.. I loved this portion of the Article hehe
Last year, sales of the Ford Falcon were their lowest since the late 1960s. Ford is yet to announce an export deal but an updated Falcon due in March 2008 will have the capability to be built in left-hand drive.
I can't wait till this car comes over to the States. I know a few friends who will be jumping to Pontiac's when this happens. Again I'll state I just wish they kept the name this whole entire G titling is well to me kinda girly. Didnt we use to have a Commodore in the States?!

Ok if my 8 ever shyts the bed and I'm forced to buy a "sedan" if you will this is on the top of my list hehe. The picture they have on their site of the front of the car looks subdued but a evil subdued yanno says "Dont f' with me, trust me on this.". Hopefully Pontiac wont mess up the front all that much if at all. Once more DONT RENAME IT!!!

IF, there is no new RX8...if the Camaro is too costly or expensive...if I even decide to trade in the RX8.....and since I think the EVO might be watered down, if I get a Sadan the G8 will be IT!
Alot of if's....lol, but I'm trying to stay true to my sports car roots...lol. A LS2 with RWD in a sadan...is the type of family car I like...lol.
