Why do they have to add the bonnet (hood) vents, the same thing with the Monaro, then GM wanted the GTO with vents, so on go the vents..and we got it here too with later Monaro's.
Typical Pontiac grille, why not leave it as the Holden is....but, its a better grille than the GTO style...
We (Holden) had better get ready to send over a load VE Commodore SS Hoods.

If I got the car I'd spring for a Holden front end remake. Just seems more aggressive to me atleast. Especialy that logo.. what is it exactly? A lions head right?

I think they messed it up.. but ah well, they had to incorporate the corporate grille in there....
maybe u can import a Holden's version of the hood, bumper and grille and swap it... it'd look 100000x better IMO.

Yep, the 'GMH'....General Motors Holden logo is a Lions head...
I have never been a Holden lad....they are made about a hours drive from my home,
but, the "LION" logo is a good one and has stood the test of time..

and wtf is with GM's two-tone interiors lately
it's ok, but they could have done better

Personally, the Holden looks just as good to me but I don't think this looks worse.
They said it's just for the concept, don't worry. Also, the 20's and it's lower by 1 inch to the ground then the standard car will be....oh yeah, the high performance breaks also.
I don't know guys...looking at the sadan's out there, I don't find many that look better than this. I say.....GOOD JOB GM!

Oh and I like the two tone, it just seperates it from the rest of the pack as the saying goes. Hopefully it will stay atleast as a option maybe.
So Ash.. anyother Holdens ova there that GM can steal and bring ova here?
Oh and one more question for ya Ash.. how is that Ford Falcon? I've heard about it but never seen any reviews of it. Is it as good as it looks or is it pure crap?

It does look good, and specs are nice SO FAR.. The holden's version is VERy VERY heavy, dont quote me, i believe its 3600+ pounds, maybe even more. It says it has 50/50 weight distribution, but that doesnt mean anything.
However... I really like the interior, especially the center console!!!! Just wait and see what the final specs will be like. As for the body, I'd swap out all the inter-changable panels from the commodore.

Bummed, but bring on OU!
362hp 6.0L? Detuned LS2 I assume. Shouldn't be too hard to be putting that down at the wheels, with a few dollars. It should make a good competitor to the Charger/300C. Rwd and good looks are going to put GM back in the forefront. Ford should pay attention.
The weight doesn't concern me all that much. It's a cruiser. It'll never be tossable, but with a proper suspension setup it should handle itself fairly well. The GTO is a good handling car, despite it's heft. No one ever bitches about Audi's sports sedans' weights, which usually exceed 3800lbs and come nowhere close to 50/50.

SAP(Sport Appearance Pkg) grills are available for the GTO. They've become pretty popular. The G8 front seems to have taken it's cues from these,if maybe just a bit more squared.
Oh btw wannahave...there's already a G8 Forum.

20 minutes ago On ABC TV news (Australian Broadcasting Commission) GMH Elizabeth (where they are made) unveiled to the media a red Pontiac G8, also showed vision of it motoring on their off-line track...GMH CEO (he is American, sorry can't recall his name) said they have no plans to resume a 3rd production shift (stopped 2006). He said full production of the G8 by the end of 2007, they are hoping between 30-50,000 units to the US a year.

LOL...my 8 will be with me for another 5 years at least but it's fun reading up on these cars.
About the weight, we must remember that the GT500 comes in at 4K so for a sadan (while with less power of course) it's not too bad to be 3.9-4K. No, I don't like it...but maybe in time you can take off 100-200 pounds from that beast.

And by it I mean "Give us what we want!". Well hopefully soon Pontiac will be all RWD performance cars like I read and all their other brands will have their own identiy again! Its what Ford needs to do but never will sadly. I can't wait till this hits the sales floor might have to sneakily get a test drive under my belt for ***** and giggles hehe.. One thing I like about my car you pull in the front you dont get ignored at all hehe, much better than being ignored when I pulled up in my old truck or my other car I had, I couldnt get a salesman to look at me.

I believe I heard that that the G8 will look like this for two years but then gets a redesign once they move the manufacturing to Canada..
Nice to see a RWD, manual car again. Isn't much to choose from in the under 30ish K market with four real seats.

You mean LS2....the LS1 has not been used in a long time now. The Z06 uses the LS7, while the older Z06 used the LS6. The LS1 is what the Camaro came with....if I remember right.
