Own a Lift? Post it

Figured I would start a little thread for all the enthusiast out there who have splurged for a lift regardless of type.

About a week ago I decided to get what I have always wanted in my garage, a two post car lift. I went with a Direct Lift 8,000lb capacity lift, considering it is mostly for my 8 but I do work on a couple of other vehicles around the house the largest being a half ton truck I figured this would be more than enough for any job I will be doing. One thing I realized since owning this is now I am actively looking for work to do on my car. I honestly don't know how I did it any other way. All in all with the lift install and going with a liftmaster jack master opener for the garage door it put me back about 3G but in the long run definitely worth the investment

Sweet.
My buddy has been talking to me about getting a lift because I have my car in the air all the time. I was wondering about the garage door opener as that is a real limiter on height. Good job, the car looks good too.

Yeah the garage door opener was a concern for me to, look up the liftmaster jackshaft door opener it connects right to the torsion bars and eliminates the overhead motor.

That is actually really cheap, I thought those lifts ran in the 10k range.

Did you install it yourself or was it professionally installed?

Did it myself, took only a couple hours with simple tools. Biggest pain was moving the post over 600lb a piece other than that not hard at all.

Nice setup. Is that a strip you have to roll over though? I think some of us may be too low for some lifts like that lol.
I have to roll ontop of 2X4s or pull up on the fenders to rack my car at work

Yeah my ceiling is only 10ft so i had to get a two post with a bottom plate instead of the 12ft lifts that connect at the top, it runs two pulleys with tension cables under the plate in order to insure proper weight distribution while lifting clearance is about 2" it looks larger in the middle but thats because my garage floor has a slope to it for a drain so the concrete is lower there but it only matters where the tires touch. stock height and the arms fit perfectly under the car, later when i upgrade coil-overs 2X4 will be a must.
