140 in a residential area? I hope he loses his driving privleges and insurance. He should've been arrested. I'm glad his friend lived.

Isn't 450,000 cheap for a GT? I thought they went for 800k+.

All this shows is that money doesn't always indicate a persons intelligence.

Porsche's engineers pride themselves on their driver survival rate due to "robust" construction.

A few years ago, I acquired some interior parts & seats in excellent condition from a 944T that hit an Oak tree @120+. The driver walked away.

...No blood in the cockpit.

Unfortunately.....this lesson didn't teach him anything because he and his friend walked away without injury. If the guy thinks he's invinceable.....this situtation is only going to reinforce that.

That would've have been a more appropriate punishment for doing something so stupid and dangerous on a residential road. If I had lived on that street, he would have left the car without an injury....but not the scene of the accident

You guys are ill. We've all done absolutely dumb things in our lives and do not know all the details of the incident. I'm so glad I didn't have something more powerful to drive when I was less responsible.
Mugatu, I hope that was some kind of strange humor and not your real desire for this individual.

excuse me? we all haven't taken a supercar onto residential street and done 140mph on wet roads to impress our friends. that is idiotic and deserves no sympathy. he SHOULD have done jail time for what he did, putting people in danger.

but you go ahead and defend him because 'we all have done dumb things in our lives'. maybe this guy should buy a ferrari as his next car and impress his friends on YOUR block.

Sure, everyone does stupid **** from time to time.....but this incident is beyond stupid. 140mph on a residential road!!!! I've done 140mph before....on a highway in the open desert where I would have only killed myself. This guy put a lot of people in danger including his friend.....and walked away less one Porsche. Although Mutagu's response was extreme....it's understandable.

They are not selling well. Within 6 months they were going for sticker price in Houston. Now I would expect you can get one for less than sticker.

I am not even remotely defending him, rather questioning the degree of punishment you appeared to be suggesting. Your later statement makes much more sense to me. Some level of jail time is probably in order.

Did anybody find out the aftermath of this? I'm sure he was taken into police custody right after the incident. I mean, speeding, reckless endangerment, reckless diriving... etc.
