I would like to say that VWs can be even worse. My V6 used a quart every 2500 miles since new and I know people with the 4cyl that use 1 quart every 1000 miles. VW doesn't consider it a problem until you get to 1qt every 600 miles. They don't tell you this when you buy one. At least you know that the RX is supposed to use it and are forwarned.
