where and when is this article from? it reads just like an article from last year and even uses a sketch from a year or 2 ago.

 

I WANTED the RX8 so bad. Trust me, I have been clinging to these forums trying to make a decision. I have a 2002 SE Titanium mazda mx-5 right now, and she's been pretty good to me. Once I finish paying it off in a couple of years, I will possibly then go for the RX-7 ... IF (and that's a big IF) it's out. It is supposed to be scheduled for a 2006 release in the states.

I read from numerous sites that Mazda is releasing the RX-7 overseas first, and then possibly in the United States to compete with Nissan's Skyline/350Z division.

I HAVE seen a real picture of the RX-7, and it's gorgeous. I heard that Mazda will be starting it out at around $32,000 if it comes out in the states.

These of course are all speculations, but I have a very funny feeling, especially after seeing real pics of it, that is may come out.

 

I heard this car will come in at around 300-330hp.

A friend sent this to me. I really have no idea about where it's from. He knows I'm a fanatic for the RX8. This is the second sketch i have seen. I have a friend who collects different magazines overseas, and he also is the one that sent me the pictures from some japanese magazine of the real car. The car does look agressive.

I know some of you may call me stupid, because I'm waiting for a car that is nothing but a rumor right now. However, of course other factors held me at bay before purchasing an RX8. This of course was one of them. :D

I don't know if I hope you're wrong, or if I hope you're right.

But why would they price it just slightly above the 8 - seems it should go up a bigger notch than just a few k more. I bet a decent one will go in the high 30 - low 40 range. There, I feel better, I couldn't reeeaally afford that anyway.

IF it comes out, it's hard to say what it would look like. However, the drawings I posted in the link Enzolor listed above are the ONLY original designs I've seen. IMO, they are also the best looking and most closely resemble the current designs. Also, notice that those two drawings are similar but appear to be done by different artists (hmmmmm). The other pics I've seen have been photoshopped combinations of earlier RX-8's. Evolvs, Miatas, and Mazda6's like the monstrosity posted at http://www.autothing.com/funthings/S...07MazdaRX7.htm

I did read some where in car&driver that "Mazda is going to re/release the RX-7". but the RX-8 just hit the maket at that time. So depends on the sale of the 8 i guess?

 

a base price of 32k is quite a notch over the base price of 26k that we started with, remember fully tooled out the rx 8 approaches 35k, so it wouldnt be surprised with a pretty standard package the new rx7 will be 38-42kish
