Bahrain's track revamped for Formula 1 season opener

The track, which stretches into the Sakhir desert, has been lengthened from 5.4 km (3.4 miles) to 6.3 km and features a new loop of corners.

Organisers said the changes would offer a new experience to drivers.

"It is the perfect time to evolve the circuit with this new challenge and new overtaking opportunities," said Zayed Alzayani, chairman of the circuit.

...and as far as Button vs. Hamilton, I just really think JB will be out to prove a point and ATTEMPT to establish himself as the clear No. 1. I think Hamilton had it a little bit easy last year against Heiki, further, it's been a while since Hamilton's team mate has seriously pushed him...so I think this is going to be something Hamilton is going to have to adjust to.

:

1. i am not sure about button. yah he has a challenge, but button is racing 22 otehr drivers. And we seen how kobayashi made button look like he was a GP2 driver.

2. And i dont think hamilton had it easy at all. he had to carry his team, because heiki just couldnt seem to be a team mate at the front of pack. Even though Hamilton had a team mate, who was not on par with him. Hamilton had 22 other drivers to deal with.

But I do love the optimism views you have. Even though your rep is on the line now :mdrmed:, Its fans like you, that makes this thread funny. Because with out your out landish ideas, I wouldnt be able to crack jokes about them.

but jokes aside, i do respect your views. but having a team mate that helps blocking etc helps alot. hamilton havent had that, ever since he joined f1.

 Ohhhh you smart ass...you just wait till March. And as for Kobayashi...well we'll have to see how he works out. Yes, he put in some OUTSTANDING drives...but then again he had too, and really had nothing to loose. If any one of us on this site had 1 shot to make it to the big leages, well I'm sure we would all be driving our balls off and taking risks that we wouldn't take if we were already locked in solid for the year. Further, Kobayashi did put a move on JB that freaking BLEACH couldn't remove...BUT, lets see him try that shit on Schumacher, Webber, Kubica....shall I go on. Kobayashi could have gone from a hero to a ZERO in a heartbeat. And Alfy my brother....my rep has been questionable from day one :shocking::40oz:

One thing though, without the refueling...the pit stops are going to be CRAZY FAST....I bet they'll be in the 4 sec range or so. That's going to be awesome!!! Shit man...is it March yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So what...i'm about 1.010 off....but who called it first??? :icon16:

We will see if the RB will be competitive. Personally I hope so, but I think the McLaren and the Mercedes and even the red toy-car might take bigger steps forward.

How could you!!! You'll be sorry for this statement. Both Alonso and Massa will beat the heck out of everyone else. There is no doubt about that... 2 Latin drivers in a Red Ferrari??? Lethal my friend... Lethal... kinda like Beyonce in a Babydoll...:boink:

Schumacher will surprise many and finally Hamiltom will face a REAL driver in a good car. Bye Bye Hamilton... You will never be champion again... heck even that championship was "handed" to him... we all know that, even Alfy who is always on denial...

Correct, the only think I can add is JB had everything to loose. Namely the championship. If he tried to fight for that position with an unknown, he could have easily crashed out. RB would be champion today.

alfy28 01-27-2010 04:30 PM

I so hope that , MS pits in the ferrari dept. would make my day.

By All, I'm leaving for the Daytona 24hr. See you in a week.

Damn Polo, I have missed you!

I was about to write a message asking if people knew where Polo was. Welcome back friend, and with this the debate can start in earnest.

As for two latin drivers in the red car. Its going to be passionate racing that is for certain. Too bad races are won with a cool head

Bring it onto the track!

Carlos

1. Hamilton has never faced a real driver in a good car
2. The 2007 McLaren was good

Conclusion: Alonso is not a real driver!

And I who thought you weren't going to come out of your closet and admit it ;)

Oh and by the way, you have no idea how much money we silver knights had to pool to pay off Timo Glock to let Hamilton pass in that turn, it was insane!

What happens if our 2 beloved latin drivers do what the other latin (barrichello) does best: 2nd? :)
I mean... barrichello could finish 2nd against a formula full of his clones, in that case the podium would go to the safety car!

PerSmitt 01-28-2010 04:01 AM

You know, very few drivers have managed to outrun the safety car. As a matter of fact, he is in the lead every single lap he drives. Not all drivers have such good statistics :)

So don't dis the safety-car ;) Its kick ass!

I hear you and I know you were going to say this. :) :) I admit that Hamilton was better than Alonso, but who wouldn't if Hamilton had the best car and was RD's adopted son? :) :)

I can't wait for the season to begin! :) It'll be awesome and I can't believe I am saying this but I can't wait to see Schumacher in the "silver bullet". :)

I give a "squat" about Mclaren... as usual, Hamilton will have everything he needs to win but I could care less.

And it'll be interesting to see RBR team. :) I hope those renault engines hold up.

Carlos.
ps. I have missed you guys as well... :) :) Awesome to be back.

The front view is good. However overall it is eehh. It is too long looking and the nose is an uglier version of the Red Bull. I do like seeing white on the wings again.

Ive always hated those aweful sharkfins on the airbox. Look how huge they are now! The car looks rediculous. It makes the ugly ferrari look good...
