Yeah, it's likely. They all glow about the 8s when they do talk about them, but just ignore them mostly.
The 70 is turning faster laps than the 71 by a second or so every lap, so don't think the 71 will overtake on speed alone. |

Thanks Renesis_8 :)
Great work by Speedsource so far. Shame about the 69 but they've been running a solid, smart race so far. Knocking on every piece of wood I see right now. |
How are the Mazdas doing? 70 still first position?

If you can not watch on TV then you follow the standings here: http://grandam.racersites-cluster.co...d=692&VN=28675 |
There's a stream online at http://justin.tv. Just add /nascarfansforever to the URL. :]

Sahlen car is in the top 5 as well. Hope to see these guys improve over the year. The Nonnamakers have been around for a long time and they've really stepped up their program this year.
|
They said that their very first time out with the 8s they were faster than they were in the vettes, so they should do well this year.
|
#70 is still posting faster lap times than the 71 in 2nd GT position, often 2-3 seconds faster.
|
70 in pits for tires, fuel, a bit more oil. Only issue is steering not perfectly aligned due to damage overnight.
Still leading. |
The 8s sound incredible!
|
The #19 Vette does not look good...
|
#19 vette backed it into a wall, heavy rear damage, likely full course caution.
This might close the 71 up to the 70, depending on where the pace car picks up the field. Looks like 57 Camero may have been involved, front end looks ... skewed, lots of tire rub. |
Should make for some interesting racing on the restart if they go full course yellow
|
lol. my dyno operator sent me a text last night while we were watching the race and said the 3 rotor cars were quieter than my car on the dyno. I think he's tired of hearing it!
|
Yeah, STAY DOWN, STEVENSON!
|
yeah, #41 is back out.
Good job for Dempsey racing for attempting to finish the race with both their cars. They will certainly be right up there with Speedsource in the races to come. So far so good for Sahlen's 43 too. More troubles for the Camaros, man they've really been bumping into everyone, who have they NOT bumped into? I guess the visibility sucks inside, or the bodywork is too frigging huge and rectangular, like a brick. Speedsource still going strong, few laps between the P2 car now. ________ 18TEEN live |
something happen to #71 porsche because it is turning in slow laps
|
I know I missed it. What exactly happened to the 69 car? I saw fire on the recap, but didn't hear anything past that.
|
Ive always like the Stevenson team, in all thier interview you can always tell they are really good down to earth people(actually most of the teams and personell of every team are) but I ve always liked them because they started out small and usually with older equipment. This year is thier first year that they have a newly produced car,,,
That doesnt mean that the Mazdas still arent my favs,,, |

I'm really liking the 09+ front bumper on the race cars. They look aggressive on the track.
|
Salen 43 into 5th pretty quickly, the 97 Camaro seems to have issues, dropped to 7th now.

I just noticed that the #70 exhaust is at the rear instead of dumping before the rear tire like before. Was it like that last season too? Anyone know the reason for the change?
|
interesting tidbit they just showed about the #71 porshe getting fuel in the parking lot...
