Obvio! 0-60 <4.5s 250HP 1648lbs

With a power to weight ratio upto exceeding that of a a Porsche GT3, ~160MPH top speed, lightweight 1648lb 'hoop formed' design, 0-100km <4.5 sec in some versions, this could be a lot of fun. Starting at 28K when and if it arrives. Three engine choices plus electric. Could be an autocrosser's dream car!

Interesting site with some vids http://www.obvio.ind.br/obviona/012.htm

base price:

• Targeted price will be US$14,000.

Here's the price for the 200 hp CVT unit:

Targeted price 828E will be US$49,000 - available in the third quarter of 2008.

It looks like a death trap, and it looks cheaply made.

Agreed...I highly doubt something weighing in at 1700lbs is very safe in anything but a single car accident. With 2 vehicles the lighter one always loses...and you will be the LIGHTEST.

I think it is great they are trying new technologies like electric propulsion. It is about time. The technology for internal combustion engines is way outdated. Not to mention at this rate the polar ice caps will be gone in about a decade.

I have to admit it looks like a cross between a nike sport shoe and a golf cart, but if you're on the track you only see out and if I'm blowing off Porsches, I'd be smiling everytime I passed one and saw the priceless look of desperation on someone's face! In some cases, unbeauty really is (could be in this case) skin deep!

Anyway, since it doesn't really exist yet, it's a cheap fantasy...
