Nissan 350z vs. Infiniti G37
I'm from Canada.
What kind of crack is Nissan Motors smoking to price the new 2008 Infiniti G37 $2000 LESS than the 350z???
$47K vs $49k!

I assume they aren't sure how it will sell so they want to make it reasonably affordable????for that segment anyways. I find nissan overpriced as it is......so I'm not the best judge.
It's VERY tough to find a G37 without a lot of options. In fact I stopped at a dealer last week to check out the car and there was one car in the entire US that didn't have a sunroof.
Also, I don't know where you're getting your pricing info from but in the US the Base Z is still about 7k cheaper than the base G37.

the pricing is right according to nissan.ca and infiniti.ca
The pricing doesn't make any sense, just as the prices of all cars now that canadian dollar is > US dollar.

^ and it blew chunks even then. I remember I was helping a friend choose a new car around that time and she wouldn't even consider the Altima because of it's interior. She ended up getting a TSX.
~18k versus ~28k. No surprise.
I looked at and test drove both cars in 2003, along with a Mazda6. I bought the Mazda6.
The issue is that, for the price of a 30k car, you get a 18k interior. I'll massage your ego by admitting that, without a doubt, the 350z is fast. Looks is another matter.

Back to the main topic here guys..... Is Nissan on CRACK for pricing the new G coupe $2000 below the 350z in Canada?
It's more luxurious, MORE POWER, more badge-name, and costs LESS? WTF?

Yes, base price may be that far off but a fully loaded Altima was not much less. Acura just didn't offer a stripped base model, which my friend was not looking for anyway. Long story short, she got a loaded TSX for a little less than the 28K that you quote as "base" price for the TSX (granted there is not a huge list of expensive options on the TSX, but nav is definitely one). We checked and test drove just about every car in the segment - including the Mazda 6, which was definitely the best driver of the bunch . . . but that's not everything. Trust me, I did advise her to at least consider the Altima but no-go because of the interior. And also, price was not the limiting factor in the purchase, she just wanted the best car she could afford. I can't argue that she made the wrong choice because after all was said and done, I recommended the TSX . . . which as it turns out is a damn fine car for the money.
Back OT, yes Nissan is on crack!
Sorry, not to keep this thread off topic but for some reason I couldn't access it for the last day or so.

Canada is pretty crazy considering US prices for a base Z are 28K & a G37 is 35K....
As for the horsepower statement, it wont be long before the Z gets the 3.7 Motor, and really, the Z is probably faster still as its not loaded down as the G is.

I don't really feel like checking to see if those are right, but you do realize that you're contradicting yourself right?
