Why do you think James Bond is always getting the girls?

Did you know that this Toyota 2000GT was the Bond car in "You Only Live Twice" in 1967?

Greatest could be interpreted in so many ways... Greatest at what, all around, for being a drivers cars, greatest Luxury, greatest design, and on and on.

As much as it pains me to agree with Pimple, if you're looking at all around you can make a compelling case for the M3 (E30 and E36 moreso IMO). It's been the benchmark for so long, it's expensive but you don't have to be ultra rich to own one, it's a good daily driver, it performs very well, and provides a good bit of luxury.

Supercar wise, I'd say the 959 over the Mclaren F1, everything I've ever read or seen about the F1 is that it's somewhat numb and uninspiring even though it's fast as hell. But really when it comes to ***** out performance it changes ever few years, I'd say right now it's the Enzo, a couple years from now it will probably be something different, maybe even the Carrerra GT has surpassed it already.

Drivers car that's not a supercar, there's a pretty strong case for the Elise.

Drivers car on a budget that's also pretty practical, Evo probably gets the nod there.

What would I take? Probably a vintage Ferrari (just about anything in the 200s), but only if I could afford a ***** out performance car at the same time. For something unjder 200k I'd take a Ford GT. I just love that car, it's such a timeless design and it can whoop up performance wise on the other cars in its class. Then I'd have a modded Mercesdes S600 for my beater

You sissy, go for the 65. :p

I agree with your point. It is hard to pick just one greatest car of all time.

If I could afford an F1, then I would have a stable of cars.

Of all the cars you guys showed are great. But have you ever heard an Aston Martin V12 just idling next to you?!?! I'll never forget the sound of that Vanguish when I was in London, seconds after a Lamborghini Murcielago accelarated hard... the Aston is in its own class: super rare, super sexy and playing the best "music" in the world!!

The only true competitor, in my opinion, is the Lamborghini Gallardo, while waiting for the F430...

I would probably have to give the nod to the 911. It seems to be a nice blend between performance and practicality. It is expensive, but not ultra expensive. It certainly isn't perfect, but as an all rounder, it does well and does well consistently.

the 911 comes close but i wouldn't, only because the basic concept of the layout is extremely flawed. what's amazing about it is that it's a very flawed sports car made perfect thru engineering, and it demostrates porsche's engineering prowess. the nicest car for me would either be the toyota 2000gt, mazda cosmo sport, jaguar e-type series 1, '67 sting ray, or FD

if it was up to me and I had the $, I'd have a crazy collection of "finned" cars, I'd have a 59 caddy (duh), a 58 or 59 plymouth fury, I'd have to have the 57 bel-air of course, as cool as sports cars are, I'd still love to have a classic big boat 50's car with whitewalls etc., I probably would sneak something under the hood and upgrade the brakes etc. I'd also take a Shelby daytona coupe, a 67 stingray (man I love the split window). A 50's bug would be fun, a porsche 935, a 53 chevy 5 window pickup, (something about the way the cab looks is cool to me) and then I'd like a screaming convertible of some type (maybe a Diablo roadster or something) for pure speed an F1 would be cool (sitting in the middle has to be an experience I'm sure) or an Bugatti EB110 since I never see those anywhere, shoot there's way too many cars to list but this would be a good place to start
