Not bad at all, even though the nose could go more down in my opinion it still looks good and refreshing compared to the mighty king in boredom design. class, which is the Golf Mk7. However, official photos will say all when the time comes. I personally like this new design philosophy.

 

I think they need to work on the rears more. The front of Mazdas' new cars looks dead on, the rears don't seem to work as well.

I agree with you on this point. The new mazda 3 front ends look great. Don't know why they are changing it so quickly.

 

This is a huge improvement and I think it will definitely get some attention and good sales.

On an unrelated note: When they said "sex appeal" in the article, I read it as "apex seal". It took moment to figure out the meaning of that sentence.
