Newbie Question about Bodykits
This is a really dumb question, but being new to cars in general, I'm gonna ask anyways...
By putting a bodykit on your car, isn't it more prone to damage because of the lower ground clearance? Do drivers have to be extra cautious driving on sharp inclines and declines on the road so that they don't scrap or damage front end or sides?

Maybe. In theory and part that is lower than OEM runs a greater chance of scraping. However depending on your roads, driveways, speed bumps, etc. that may not be a problem. You mileage always varies.
In my area a full MS body kit did not scrape until I lowered the car with new springs.

hmmm...that's interesting.
I think the look of the 8 looks really slick with a bodykit, but if you're an owner of a bodykit, would it be a safe assumption to say it's a great distraction and hinder's in your day-to-day driving to always be worriying about whether or not you're going to scrap or damage on certain types of road surfaces here and there? Is this the price most drivers have to pay for having the added look?

Again, your mileage always varies and it's a matter of personal outlooks.
Example: One month after purchasing a $63k BMW it was keyed. My (minor) reaction was, "now I'll have to deal with insurance and body shop to get this fixed." Other people may have gone ballistic in the same circumstance.
Does having the body kit and lowering the car make me more concerned about scraping? No. It does happen now and then but I don't worry about it. It happens. But I'm not a good person to ask.
One thing I will say though is you don't want a fiberglass front. No matter how careful you are it will get scraped/bumped at some point. Even one bump can be enough to crack the (relatively) brittle fiberglass.
