Capsule Review: 1993 Mazda RX-7 | The Truth About Cars

Interesting enough review ... just don't read the ignorant comments which follow.

Seems like everyone believes that solution to a rotary is a LSx instead of using quality parts and service.

most of them has no clue what he/she is talking about. and all these ls swap usually end up bad, then of course its always the car, never the owner's own damn fault. right? even they got it working, it still gonna end up bad cuz they kept having to deal with issues after another.

i wanna see this big block ford can crush the fd to put some money down for a race. os

Even so, the RX-7 provided a brief glimpse of a lost time. While the GT-R can be said to be carrying that world-beating torch for Japan, it’s the antithesis of the RX in many ways. It’s a different kind of dream to a different set of engineers – you might as well compare a katana to a cruise missile.

Expensive to buy, unreliable to own, costly to keep on the road and borderline dangerous in the wet.

In other words: utterly fantastic. I miss it.

I wonder what they will say of the RX-8 in 20 years, considering they already have talked so highly of it since its debut.

Probably something along the lines of "Remember back when we had to put gas in our cars?"

Wow those guys in the comments are so dumb. That wasn't even an R1 FD. I'm pretty sure it's just a repainted base.
