If that's why the new STI is going to look like.....................I love it!!! GT-R looks like a 350Z and G35 put together. Couldnt they have been a little more creative?

Ummm the G35 is a Skyline, why would it look much different? I can't decide what I think of the new STi concept, I think it looks far less agressive than the last two body styles.

The STi looks like a Neon with a touch of Alfa Romeo.

The Subaru concept car that had the grill that one is modeled from was designed by a former Alpha Romeo designer. It's going to be another love it or hate it design for Subaru much like the Bugeye WRX, or even the SVX.

I don't know, if they can get evo'esque performance out of that STI, then I would look long and hard at it, it has way more style than an evo, but, so does urkle.

We seem to be in the midst of another golden age of sports & gt cars. As a car enthusiast, I delight in all these great cars! But boy if the Skyline GT-R finally does make it to the US, I predict it will be a huge hit. It has a massive reputation and has been forbidden fruit for so long, that I’ll bet waiting lists will start to queue upon its official announcement.

What's up with the nose on the STi? No me gusta. Hopefully, that Skyline concept will stay on the concept floor.

Damn!
If the new Sti looks like that, then I might consider it.

The current one looks a bit too ordinary for my liking.

I read that article--those are not official drawings, so the replacements could embody some of those design elements--but they are not official.

Only if it can live up to all the hype.

When the R32 first came out in 1989 it could run with 911 Turbos, but by the time the R34 came out in 1999, it had mostly just gotten heavier with no real improvment in performance. C&D tested an R34, and they found it to be pretty overrated at that point.

Plus, the competetion keeps getting stronger, like the CTS-V with 400hp and the next M3 (M4?) supposedly putting out similar numbers. The AWD G35x weighs nearly 3700lbs, and the rumored engine for the GT-R is a twin-turbo 3.3L VQ(VQ33DETT). Will they really be able to make enough performance with this to stick out in today's market?

I'm no fan of the WRX, but that concept drawing looks sweet.

rx, You can say that about almost every new model year car that comes out. Most of the time it's an improvement.

Wrx looks better than predecessors but more like an rsx-ish. Hope the interior matches the new looks.

That Skyline gtr concept looks pretty good and shares a similar platform but is not a G35. It will cost significantly more than the g35, maybe even double, but you will get 400 horse. If it was M3 range, I'd pick the gtr.

Those drawings have been going around the Subaru board for months. I'd say that more current owners prefer the 02-05 model looks over the concept drawings, that may change when the new model comes out but as of now not a lot of people are disappointed that they bought the current or bugeye style.

The guys over at Nasioc have gone photshop happy with the new design... Some of them actually are pretty good, mostly subtle changes. Read some of the threads over there and you'd think we were BMW owners and we were talking about Chris Bangle, they're ready to string the guy up.

The Evo concept is much more elaborated, and maybe losing some of its simplicity, but I like it...
