New RX7 and RX9!
 

OK Rotorheads,,, This is what I heard today from my inside source.

2011 is the last model year for the RX8. Most of you have heard this already.

Well, today I heard from my reliable source what's coming from Mazda.

2012 new model RX7. 2 door and Convertible models. It will have the Renesis engine. Don't know of any modifications to the Renesis at this point.
And the 2012 RX9 with the 16X. This is going to be a 4 door version (not sure on the configuration) with the 16X. But I will have pics when it appears.
It will be offered in a Gasoline and a Diesel version.

Also a Mazdaspeed version of the MX5.

The Mazda2 will be out in 2011 with Gasoline 4 cyl. In 2012 it will be offered with a Gasoline and a Diesel version.

sweet 2 more years willbe waiting for the 16x

When I saw the picture, I assumed it was a joke post before I read it. Still waiting to hear more official information before I get too excited.

If this is true, I hope more has been done with the renesis. Obviously it'd be a great car if they just put it in a lighter car with at least equal handling, but I'd still like to see a bit of improvement in some form or fashion.

I had the inside scoop on pics for the 2009 RX8. My source is legit!

Didn't mean to question you or your source, but a more official release means it's closer and will also probably provide a better estimation of what to expect from the car. Pretty much all we can assume for sure at this point is that the car will make no less power than the current renesis and should weight at least a little bit less.

well regardless my broke ass won't be able to afford one for a few years after they come out anyway....unless I hit the lottery or something major happens....ha ha. The 8 is the closest thing I'll have for quite a while.....and I'm ok with that. I wanna wait till they get the bugs out anyway

I know you didn't. But as in the past I have an inside source. This is what was told to my source by MAZDA.
I know that as in the 2009 RX8 pic thread I posted a couple years ago.
I will have some pics when they have the new version on the road.
The clincher is they will have two models coming. RX7 and RX9. And my source is one of the first to get these new models for inspection and testing.

Now I have to try to figure off a way to pay off my car in 2 years, and be able to buy this rx7 2-seater.

The RX8 is a 4 door.

I know that... A lightweight 2 seater with a 16x sounds better than a 2seater with a renny... :(
Maybe they'll both be offered with a 16x at one point, when the left-over renesis will end?
It really doesn't make sense having 2 rotary engines in production so i'm a bit disappointed!

so I have 2 more years to safe, to spend it all on rx9 :). So I should sell my rx8 round 2011-12. good good

Any chance of a boosted renesis on that 2 seater? That would get my money!

Mazda should FI Renesis for the new RX7

16x swap into the 2seater will probably be possible. Some kid will wreck his 4door in the first few months anyway making the perfect donor car

i will sign up TOMORROW.....and mabye with diesel powered too (after testing obiuovsly...)

i hope that those rumors will come reality, a return in big style of BIG MAZDAS.....:bowdown:

My back still doesn't hurt so much, a 16x 2 seater would work its magic to my garage in a heartbeat ;)
Jokes aside, a 2 seater without a decent bump in power would be just an overpriced miata in my book. Guess we'll have to wait and see what happens.

I just happen to be going to my dealership this morning and will place my order. :)

i just have a couple of kids in the rear seats.....

my official "toy-car" remains the mx-5 for the foreseeable future.....

If they make a 2+2 like the rx8 you'll surely get a good compromise for your children but since i HOPE that i won't get in trouble with girls in the near future a 2 seater would be the best pick for country roads and track days :)
