yes, or CX-5 or CX-7 II (the concept mx-crossport a.k.a. cx-7 is dated 2005 IMHO)

if you watch carefully those images, at the end of the bonnet ,where windscreen "starts" there is a modification, bacause SKY engine needs more space for exhaust collector (explained in that Berlin presentation last summer with the white 6 mule)

SKY under the hood IMHO, not likely mazda3 platform, but the new one.....

Okay. I'm throwing my guess in the ring:

I think it's a CX7 test mule with styling enhancements (Facelift again) and a SKYactiv D (Diesel) undergoing extensive testing.

What's going on with suspension, I have no idea.

Paul.

the rear bumper is different than a CX-7 too, and it makes it look stubbier from the side

its a MULE It s chassis with bits of body parts on it that happen to fit. the body you are seeing is just tacked on. wheel gaps etc are because the body isnt built for the chassis.

It always seems weird to have a mule for a unibody vehicle. If the body isn't built for the chassis, why design with a different body/ in other words, how do you test a rolling chassis when that is not going to be the rolling chassis?
N.American cars just get heavily masked.
Around the D I always see the mules that are wearing a abaya/niqab

no NA cars get mules too. all the auto manufacturers use them. Most of the time the are just for suspension testing.

Oh. I still don't understand how you can test something when the dimensions and weight of the final product it will be in are different. Anyways, I guess we will have to wait & see a picture with the abaya off. I'm not much of a unibody small ute guy anyways, I have a santa-fe and it is impossible to do a body drop & lay rail . It's just a big car.
