Made in China...the new Mazda 2 with a Boot (Trunk) is an addition to the Japanese Made Mazda 2 Hatch.

A SEDAN version of the Mazda2 has surfaced at the Guangzhou Motor Show in China.

The new mini-sedan will be produced by Changan Ford Mazda Automobile joint venture at its Nanjing plant.

It will go on sale in the first half of 2008, to be sold through the Changan Mazda Motor Sales Company network.

At this stage it is not yet clear whether the vehicle will be produced and or sold outside China.

Mazda has supplied few details of the Chinese model, but has released images revealing the design is well integrated, rather than an afterthought.

Notice the Sedan has a chrome molding on the front radiator grille..

Also interior/dashboard is of a Left Hand Drive Mazda 2...

Perhaps the new Mazda 2 Sedan could be configured for the US market?

I have no dough it will be. Ford said they are going to sell a Fiesta based on the Mazda 2. I believe that the only difference in the two cars are the front and rear plastic bumper areas and some interior styling.

hey, since TRD makes stuff for the Yaris, Mazdaspeed may make parts for the 2.

I kinda like it, but how much different is the whole 2 line than the 3? They're smaller, sure, but how much smaller. Mazda has too many hatch and sedan cars.

No. We don't need another mazda coming out with a turbo that has more torque than our car. Especially that thing. I say s/c speed 8.
