New concept Kiyora and facelifted MX-5 for Paris Motor Show

Kiyora looks like that Mazda 3 that was chosen from their amateur design competition, while the MX has fallen in line aesthetically with the whole car line up.

I think the Kiyora looks like a Scion-ized Smart car.

This also caught my eye:

I Like the look of the Face-lift MX-5.

.I never really liked the small OVAL opening of the current Miata, it always reminded me of a TADPOLE!...well sort of.

BTW...The MX-5 will be renamed the MIATA for the USA Market ONLY Next Year 2010.

ugh why are they intent on making the front look like the rx8 with that huge happy grille. I hate the new mx5's and new rx8 because of the front bumper. It looks better, but not better enough to buy one, unless a decent body kit shows up.

Imagine that! I've been saying that from the moment it lost it's name. It's like changing the Mustang's name. Everyone in the US knows this car as the Miata.

I think the new MX5 looks great,,, its nice see Mazda's design language change into the direction of the Furai,,, just think a couple evolutions later there will be a RX model that looks very much like the furai, hopefully...

but these concepts are supposedly going to show some characteristics in upcoming models not too far off. No guarantee that they will, but they might. I personally never thought the concepts looked amazing (or like something I would love to be seen driving) but then they came out with the furai, which used some of the common themes and made a dead sexy car lol. The kiyora looks like the mazda3 thing done by some contest or something recently.... I'll come back and edit with link to other thread when I find it.

found it: https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...ghlight=mazda3

I think KIYORA is pretty sharp. It embodies a huge amount of the design language Mazda has shown in their last few concepts and in mostly practical ways. It could be a future Mazda2, to my thinking.

Although the new MX-5 looks better, it is too bad they had to pick up that same lame black bar on the grill that the '8 got.

Still waiting for the next gen, the ND with it's supposedly radical departure from the typically conservative MX-5 look.
