i just think they want something that can hang with and beat the likes of g35 coupe and is350 performance wise that entry level college graduate workers can afford.

damn, where was i when they handed out that memo after i graduated from college?

do all direct injection engines use the same/similar technology?

Guess I've seen a prototype of that car last friday on the autobahn near Munich. It was partially masked with tape, but clearly the new 3 coupe and the exhaust looked quite different from the regular (new) 3 series.

That would be the 4 series, unless BMW decides to make 3 series coupes still, but last I heard the coupes will be designated as a 4 series.

Correct, they said something like that some time ago. This contradicts BMWs talk about a new "M3" though.

302hp isn't enough. Especially for 42k and the fact that they are going FI.

It will sell like crazy though.

umm BMW was a pioneer in terms of forced induction engines with the 2002 back in 1970. I'd trust a BMW engineer with any mechanical feat.
