My Winter Driving Machine

As you all know, we love our RX8's, we love the handling, we love the look, we love the sound. However, I love mine so much that I just can't let her suffer the snow and rust.
I still want some fun in the winter in terms of handling, look, and sound. Well, what can be more suitable than an AWD BMW 3 series with the legendary 3.0L i6 engine?
So, I searched around on CL, trying to find a suitable deal for my budget. I found this 2001 330xi with 115k miles in pretty good condition for $8400. She's got the sport package so the seats are very nice to sit in. Of course being a BMW, she needs some maintenance, but after owning an RX8, I am not really worried about anything unless there are some major issues.
Anyways, she drives pretty nice. Lots of grip and pretty nice handling. Engine sounds amazing and the ride is more comfy than my R3. I can't wait when snow starts fall so I can take her out to show the civics what a real winter car is.
Here she is:

Good job! The E46 is the best looking 3-series sedan IMO.
This one looks well taken care of on the outside.

Let me know your thoughts on the awd system. Most later BMWs use brakes to simulated limited slip diff. VW does that also. This seems like a cost-cutting measure to me.

woo hoo! sweet deal. I actually had a 328xi coupe one winter while a family friend was on vacation and let me use his car to drive to and from work (used to have a civic with sport tires and such, and it was a sled). The TCS on these things is amazing in the snow, and makes it for one hell of an awesome winter.

Put snow tires on.
