Well, I finally was able to work a deal to my liking. I snagged a Yellow 06 S2000. The dealer would not budge on price, and I ended up leaving. I got home, and there was a message, saying to come back in. I figured, ok, one more try. They ended up giving me an extra $1700 on my trade in ($17100) for my 01 S2000, which is like $1900 over KBB. I technically paid $33k for the 06, but in the end I got full KBB and the car for near invoice when all was said and done. I was thinking about walking, but I said to myself, just take this, because it's just not worth the hassle to save a few hundred more, or have to drive 100-200 miles to get a better deal. This place was literally right down street, and I bought the car right off showroom floor.
I have to say I really like this car more then my 01. It's definitely less raw in nature, but it's quieter, smoother, definitely has more torque. Car might look almost the same, but the 06 with the 2.2 feels noticably different. The steering is much more daily livable as well. I'mbreaking it in, so I can't jump on it, but the car is very responsive in the lower rpms, unlike my 01. The 01 was an all or nothing proposition, and it lacked until like 4500rpms. This car feels more powerful no doubt. I admit I am gonna miss the 8900 RPM redline, but I rarely went over 8krpms anyway because at 8900 the 01 sounds like it's gonna blow up. The stereo sounds much nicer then my 01, and it has stability and traction control, and a visible rear window, unlike my 01 that has a soft plastic window. Everything about this car is better then my 01. It's just so smooth. I totally love it.

Thanks guys. I'll take pics tomorrow. By the time I got to dealer, it was almost dark when I finished all paperwork. Spent 3 and half hours total in that damn place. I caved in and accepted the fatc that in this area, you just aren't going to get those deals on this car without traveling. They solved that with giving me $1900 over KBB for my 01. Overall I didn't ok, and I am satisfied.
I will definitely get some nice pics to show tomorrow. I want to take them, so I can compare my 01 to this one.

When the S2000 first came out I wasn't really feeling them--but now they are some of my favorite cars; I'd definately get one if I didn't want the added space the RX8 offers. Congrats -- there is a guy around here selling a comptech supercharged '01/'02 S2K for about $24K--I really thought about that one.

Hey guys. I took some quick pics and put them up on yahoo. I need to detail car because it got dirty already, but of course it's new so it still looks good. Need to find a nice area to take pics, besides the parking lot in direct sunlight where there's that rotting Caddy next to me. Nice looking car! However, it seems weird to me to see nothing on the dashboard. I guess the straight-forward looking works in this situation for the interior.

You'll like the increased torque especially around town. Much funner to drive now with the added kick.

I've had my '05 since August and the only regret I have is buying it in black. Stays clean for ten minutes
