My friend totaled his Mazda 3, <PICS>
I'm so sad, yet so happy. I met someone that I really like alot a couple months ago. He's very nice and it doesn't hurt that he's cute
anyway I thank God he survived this. Actually I thank Mazda. They built a very good car. Every airbag in his car went off, he had his seatbelt on.
He hurt his back chest and leg. his leg will be in a cast for a few months, cant drive for 6 months.
Everyone..PLEASE wear your seatbelts. I'm 100 pct sure his seatbelts saved his life.

room to live
they teach you in safety class that the automobiles are designed with 'room to live'. if you are thrown from the vehicle, most probably (there are always exceptions) you will be thrown in the same direction as the 3000lb vehilce you are driving. thus, 3000 lb vehicle ends up on top of you. yes, wear your seatbelts.

he was driving in the rain and was over confident. he hydroplaned off the road. Im not sure what he hit. He's still in a lot of pain, but...pain is good, it means your still alive.

Hydroplaned? a front wheel drive car?
I have new tires on the rear(8mm tread depth), and two more to go on (at home). The fronts have a uniform 2mm tread depth (on the wear bars, non directional tires) and it took full power and 70mph to hydroplane in a heavy downpour on I-55 (just checking)
Good to hear your friend was okay, maybe there was a defect in the car. maybe a faulty tire, wheel rim bead seat?
