These new models received the highest ratings in Consumer Reports' most recent reliability survey. Models are listed in alphabetical order by manufacturer, within each vehicle category.


Small Cars:
- Honda Civic
- Toyota Corolla
- Toyota Echo

Midsize Cars:
- Acura RL
- Buick Regal
- Infiniti I35
- Infiniti Q45
- Lexus ES330
- Lexus GS300/GS430
- Lexus IS300
- Lexus LS430
- Mazda6
- Nissan Maxima
- Toyota Camry
- Toyota Avalon

Sporty Cars:
- Acura RSX
- Honda S2000
- Mazda MX-5 Miata

I'm not surprised to see very few American cars on the list, but seeing the Buick Regal as the only U.S. representative is kind of a shock.

Sorry for my dumb question, but you mean that the 6 hasn't been in the market long enough, or that they tend to be crappy?

No (zip, zilch, nada) German cars whatsoever. That will be a surprise to some...

Glad to see my favourite luxury brand (Lexus) is well represented. Shame they don't make any vehicles I want at this time.

Not to me. I have an BMW X5 4.4i. The car "feels" great, but Germans are falling behind in their quality control methods. I have had four Mazdas so far and I don't recall having any mechanical or cosmetic problems with them.
