The most powerful vehicle you ever driven was a ________?
My friend's old stroker 383 Iroc-Z was pretty damn fast but only in a straight line. It was somewhere over 550 hp. On the street I would have to say an old 2nd gen RX-7 that I used ot own that did about 425 rwhp. That car is long gone. Now I'm back down under the 200 hp mark. It's cheaper and keeps me out of trouble.
That would have to be an F-16.
Ok, not really. I just wanted to impress you guys. I think the RX-8 is the most powerful car I've driven. Although I've driven a minivan and a U-Haul truck too -- don't know how many HP those things are packin'.

Well, since you said 'vehicle' and not 'car'.......2003 Suzuki Hayabusa.
As far as cars go, I got a ride in my parent's neighbor's Ferrari F40 about 10 years ago. Fastest car driven would be my brother-in-law's 1996 Viper GTS.

my buddies skyline R32...just over 600hp to the wheels (dyno proven at XS Eng)....street registered.
he just got accepted into the next american touge 3 and the ultimate street car shootout.

for me, it was a 06 GTO and a 06 C6. both have 400bhp/400ft-lbs.
Would you believe > 87,325 HP?
This is what a Boeing 747 generates at cruise throttle level. I actually did a refused landing/go-around so I was at take-off thrust which is probably 2 or 3 times that thrust.
Well, actually it in a full motion high-fidelity simulator but the FAA says that's the same thing as real flying.

Well, it depends on how much HP an old model U-Haul 26' moving trucks has.
But probably my friend's '04 Z06. Though I didn't really get to have fun in it, as he was drunk at the time and I was just driving him home. I've got to get him to go to a track day so I can really drive it :D

I took my former automatic RX-8 to a rotary shop to see they could do anything for me. That lead nowhere, and then somewhere along the line the owner showed me his 20B Cosmo and took me for a ride in it. I didn't get to drive it myself..but I almost got whip lash in the passenger seat.
He said if I wanted power, sell the RX-8 and buy one of those.

I'll have to say that the most powerful vehicle I've ever driven is an Airbus A300... Two engines rated at over 60,000lbs of thrust each. I believe that the 747 has about 50-55,000lbs of thrust/per, though obviously it has more engines.
The most powerful vehicle I've driven with an ACTUAL hp rating is the Saab 340, with around 3500hp.
Land vehicles? Either the last-gen Viper GTS (450hp) or a Ruf-modified '86 911 Twin-Turbo with an intercooler the size of a dormitory fridge. Probably less hp than the Viper, if I had to guess.

My boat, 36' Trojan Tricabin. It had twin Chrysler Marine 440ci engines for a total of 560 horsepower. Gas milage was about .8 mpg. Go-Fast boats (eg Cigarette boats) may have 2 800 hp engines.
