#3 back in the game

Amazing repair time for Audi. it looks brand new. Incredible backflip for that Toyota. Horrible driving by the Ferrari driver to cause that incident.

We're back live on Speed

driver of the toyota (anthony davidson) is the same driver that took out the le man leading corvette a few years back...pay backs a bitch(karma)
|
oh snap...the last toyota just hit the delta
|
I actually like the Deltawing concept. I think it's a very neat take on things. The visibility out of those prototypes is pretty bad and with the Deltawing being so small I'm sure the Toyota guy just didn't see him.

DAMN....leading corvette loses wheel drops to 7th
Im sick how do you let a wheel fall off? My only hope now is for the the night to be lit up by a beautiful ferrari fireball. |

Something I've never really noticed/payed attention to while watching this:
Even the announcers have to work in shifts. I know that makes sense but that realization kind of amuses me. Also: GO AUDI! |
Team Toyota including Nakajima went to apologise:uhh: to the DeltaWing team this morning. (For putting them through a WALL!!)

3...2...1...Happy New Year
GOODNIGHT |
Awesome race. I actually tried my hardest to watch the entire thing! When it went off of TV to show NASCRAP for a while I turned it on on my computer and watched it streaming. I did miss a couple of hours going out to dinner for the in-laws for a day before fathers day dinner and for usual bodily functions, shower, etc. I even slept on the couch in front of the tv. I probably missed about 3 hours going back and forth between watching and sleeping. All in all I probably saw 18 hours of it or so which is a lot. This is my yearly ritual and I don't watch an other race like I do this one. Don't interrupt me during LeMans! After the race I laid down in my bed at around 8am and slept to about 12:30.
I was really cheering for The #2 Audi car of McNish, Capello, Kristensen. They've been my favorite driver team for several years now. I thought they could pull it out but that mistake by McNish losing it in the Porsche curves cost them. It never comes down to only 1 incident of course but this one was so close to the end that it really feels like it. You could see his disappointment as he walked to the podium. The reality was that even the winning car had issues so if none of those had happened the end result could have been different as well. I thought it was really cool how Dr. Wolfgang Ulrich at Audi allowed each team to battle each other rather than just sit back and cruise to the end since they had it pretty well locked up by mid race. It kept things interesting. I'm a bit saddened by the rumor that Dindo Capello may be retiring after this season. I didn't hear confirmation of it or not but he is seriously thinking about it. Had their car won he'd have been the oldest driver to have ever won. He'd have also done it on his birthday. It would have been a great way to send of his last season but you can't be too sad about finishing 2nd at LeMans. The clock may be running down on my favorite driver combo but Audi has a pretty good group of guys to take them into the future. They repeatedly pick up some of the best. I can't wait until next year. It'll be interesting to see how Toyota recovers and improves and will be nice to see Mazda return in P2. I've really enjoyed the Audi legacy but have a feeling that Toyota is going to be a very formidable foe in the coming years. Japan wants their second victory. |

The race is about to start. I'm around for the 24.
Mazda is the only Japanese manufacturer to win the 24. Therefore, I'm rooting for Audi to so Mazda can keep that title. |

I like the Bill Caswell sticker on the laptop. Caswell is amazing in his own little way.
