The new S-Class sedan (from pics) also has those RX8 fender flares.

Today, I saw in a March magazine that just came out (I think Automobile) a pic of a future Mercedes SUV/minivan that also has those fender flares.

I want to add that I hope not only Mercedes comes out with those fender flares on a bunch of their cars, but other carmakers do so as well.

In some other car forums, people say the RX8 looks ugly with those fender flares. But I think there is a connection between the consequences of successful innovation and the perception of beauty. If a bunch of elite status carmakers join the bandwagon, then all of those hecklers will start loving the fender flares. It's validation by imitation.

The RX8 exterior is truly innovative.

Pretty similar IMO. I think the benz sign needs to be a little smaller.

Not really. It is not close enough to have grounds to file a lawsuit.
If Mazda could have sued over something like this it would have been when the C5 nearly copied the FD.

Don't get me wrong, I love a rotary. But if given the chance, I'll take an S600 with the twin turbos pushing the V12 any day. 623 horsepower, bay-bee. Now that's power.
