In an optimistic view...maybe their working on the rotary future while they're playing with all their other toys.

I think it's more a case of "the cx-7 is selling well, how can we sell even more of them" when in actuality, someone who buys a mazdaspeed cx-7 is probably someone who would have bought a cx-7 anyway.

a mazdaspeed rx-8 on the other hand, would take buyers from z's, evo's, etc, and probably also increase sales of regular rx-8's

I second that. I think the DISI turbo 4 is probably a lot easier to tune for the Mazdaspeed guys... while new Rotary tech is causing a lot of late nights and unhappy marriages. Maybe, who knows. This is post will have it's fair share of noisemakers, but I'm happy with the car I have.

They have had problems with heat and the 8 already. There are also enough people who have boosted their cars here that seem to have issues. Personally I dont blame Mazda for doing the cars that are easier than the rotary seems to be , keeping with the emission laws.

Ok.. I read Concept... nothing stating they are actually coming out with a MSCx-7.
I see this more as the MazdaSpeed concept at the Sema show, just its in Japan this time around. Everyone calm down haha... they are just doing this to get more kids if you will interested in the car rather than just soccer mom's who just traded in their HUGE SUV's for this Crossover.

I thought they already had an AWD Turbo MPV in Japan.

Anyway, you guys are thinking as they release mazdaspeeds for other cars, they are forgetting about the rotary. From my understanding the Rotary Design team is completely seperate from everything else going on there. I don think the other MS Cars are having an effect on the rotarys future.

The longer they take the better IMO.. it means theyre making something of quality versus just throwing something out there.

oh and if i were in the market for another vehicle... a MS CX-7 would be at the very top of the list.

You should see how many hooked up CX-7's they had on the Mazda sites that they're going to bring to the Tokyo show. MPVs too (too bad we don't have them in the US anymore )

We've got the CX-7, couldn't imagine "hooking it up"... It's our grocery getter...
