Hi,

I have a 2004 6s 5 dr w/MTX and all options. Absolutely NO problems. Combined City/Hwy. mileage of 21 mpg (while driven fairly hard). Nice car.

Buying a Mazda 6

I bought my daughter an 06 Mazda 6 about four months ago. She drove an Impala, Camry, Honda Civic, Altima, and a Pontiac 6. She has had two Altimas. She picked out the Mazda because of the way it drove, seats, and of course the Sat. radio. We got the 4 cylinder with 5 speed auto. So far no problems, and about a 32 mpg on the interstate, and about 20 around town. I my opinion, this is a good car so far. I used to bleed GM, but not any longer. I still have some older GM cars and trucks, but the last three cars we have bought have been German and Japanese.

Absolutely. All of my issues would've been attended to by warrany work, as it had a year and a half left on the warranty, but I was just too pressed for time to take it in for the work that needed to be done. I got around that by getting another car.

I take it back... The brake situation might NOT have been a warranty repair. Probably needed no more than having the rotors "turned", but that may not have come under the warranty umbrella.

Dr. Diablo,

Due to a problem with the brake hardware, the brake warranty was extended to 50,000 miles for all 03/04 Mazda 6's...so technically your brake problem would have been covered .

Really! What brake hardware problem was that? Similar to my issue with warping?

I didn't think there was anything unusual about it, I've had warped rotors in just about every car I've ever owned, even in recent years when I've not driven as hard as I did in my younger days.

I have a 2005 Mazda 6 Sport Wagon - automatic, as it is my daily driver/company car. I actually ordered it from the factory, since the local Maz dealer never had any in stock. Took about 12 weeks to come in.

So far, have had the brake rotors turned twice (in 28K miles) and had a problem with the a/c which was fixed under warranty. Otherwise a trouble free, enjoyable car. Getting about 24 mpg - a little better on road trips. But, I like the V6 response - so well worth the slightly lower mileage. Overall, very pleased and would recommend highly as a daily commuter.
