the rumor mill has been speculating that it will have the new Inline 6 engine, RWD, possible AWD option.
They're continuing to go up market so that might be why the name change.
It has some euro looks to it which makes sense given the competition.

Smoking turbo yay
The part above the headlights look like those eyelids I see people put on RX-8 here.
Overall not a bad design, but as said, I am more interested in the powertrain. Mazda definitely needs some update in that department now. The NA Skyactiv-G engines and Skyactiv-Drive are almost 8 years old now. Competition is pretty fierce nowadays.

Guys, keep in mind that the video shows a "concept" designed by an artist that has no association with Mazda
Proportions seems a bit off. This looks more like a CX-30 with an older design language inherited from the RX-Vision. The new CX-5 will probably looks nothing like this... At least I hope it wont.

Rockie Mountain Newbie
The vehicle was so badly penned, and not cohesive at all, that I suspected it wasn't a Mazda design, but it wasn't until I saw the rear tire size of 285/40 ZR 21 that was HIGHLIGHTED that I knew I was looking at some shitty photoshop pretend team from the far reaches of the internet.
Not to mention that the Mazda logo in the wheel center cap wasn't oriented correctly was just icing on the bs cake.
So, I wasted 37 seconds of my life looking at somebody's horrible take on a future idea of a drunken Nissan designers cocaine fueled fever dream.
BC.
