And the MAZDA breakup with FORD Continues..

http://autonews.gasgoo.com/china-new...o-110224.shtml

I wonder where those who said it wont happen are...?, I have been saying since the original Ford sell off a few years ago that effectively the Ford relationship was Over..

Mazda will get out of Flat Rock USA and now separated from Ford at China..

So the only other joint Ford venture is Thailand Plant which more than likely will be next.

BTW....Around 6 years ago Mazda Australia move all their Parts warehouse (stock) into Ford Australia Parts. Ford Australia was distributing Parts to all Australian Mazda Dealers since.

Mazda Australia has now moved all their parts out.

It was nice knowing you Ford, thanks for the loan, but you got a lot more from Mazda than they did from you.

get out from Flat Rock is not a good move for NA market IMHO...

the plans for Mazda for 2015 are 1,6 million cars produced/selled. how can do that closing plants?
they need to change the products made in USA

high quality cars? (ok, for a 2, not for big cars)

they need to re-build a real Mazda Millenia and a SUV (cx-9 size) in USA..

and import a more "euro-style sedan" Mazda6 from Japan....

Won't that cause the price of all future Mazdas to cost a lot more than they are now?

The US plant that they shared with Ford has been making nothing but garbage.

Mazda6 has more tsb than ever. The japan made Mazda6 has much less problems.

Mazda can stand on their own feet as long as they don't take stupid risk again and plan their market correctly. With the ever sinking us dollar and ultra high federal debt, it's only a matter of time before this country go down. Sorry to say that but everybody know this is true. Make a plant at places like Mexico and Russia might be a better idea. For the same price you can hire at least 2 times the people to do the same thing.

The Union situation at Flat Rock also makes it quite difficult to be profitable. GA is waiting whenever they want to bring a plant here. Our tax incentives were sweet enough to bring Hyundai/Kia.

In the USA yes..

Sorry, I guess you mean from a Technical or parts sharing point of view??, ..yes to a certain extent, depends where parts and components are made.
Mazda have already stated that 30% of parts will now be sourced outside of Japan, and Imported into Japan for assembly.

/\ And as I speak we have this large yellow multi story "Building Demolisher Excavator" at my home state which has come all the way from Portland, Oregon.

Apparently the only type of machine in the world that can demolish (pull down) a multi story building in a densely populated area.
