Mazda 3 R3 !

So I was looking around at some White R3 pictures and stumbled upon this. Apparently the guys over at MAZDA R&D in Irvine, CA wanted do something unique for SEMA with the Mazda 3... So they pretty much gave it an R3 body kit + Wheels. This shittttt looks clean! Who knows if they are gonna offer it as a package coming next year? :dunno:

Well I'll be damned. That car is put together quite nicely! :bigok: GOOD JOB MAZDA!... Now why couldnt they give the R3 a BIG BRAKE KIT from Stop Tech? That would have been nice.

Main concern is Mazda putting this MS3 R3 trim out there.. but will the AEM void warranty? as well as the Coilovers & BBK? Us being RX8 owners know damn well how MAZDA dealerships try voiding our warranty any change they can get. It seems they are more lenient with the MS3.

zoom44 02-27-2010 09:17 AM

that's not some "R3" its the Mazdaspeed3 from SSEMA. That "first drive" has already been posted here before and those wheels have been on the speed3 cars before.

certainly didn't belong in the RX-8 news section, so I have moved it here.

ZumnRx8 02-27-2010 09:20 AM

^Do what you do best. "MAZDA 3 R3" sounds a lot nicer though. :lol2:

the1jesster 02-27-2010 09:27 AM

Ah I love it when a car company tacks a econo shit box FWD and hot rod's it just makes me want to live my life a 1/4 mile at a time:puke:

zoom44 02-27-2010 09:55 AM

yeah because a mazda 3 is an econo shit box and the mazdaspeed 3 is only a 1/4 mile racer

pdxhak 02-27-2010 10:02 AM

The sedan looks good.

ZumnRx8 02-27-2010 10:05 AM

^ +1 im not too much of a Hatchback person... unless its a new STI, but.... the SEDAN does look super sexy. Its just missing a Nice SoCal Blondee behind the steering wheel..... in a bikini :yumyum:... but really.... the Sedan PAWNS the Hatch in looks

My new intake system that I have created for FWD helps reduce torque steer

pdxhak 02-27-2010 10:32 AM

^there is lame crap like that from 8 owners so don't kid yourself

ZumnRx8 02-27-2010 10:57 AM

^lol... seriously.... ATILLA :suspect:

RA-Eight 02-27-2010 10:58 AM

Who cares what the starting platform is...it's the end result that matters. MZ3=Win, MS3 = Major Win.

the1jesster 02-27-2010 01:10 PM

the word on the street is this going to be the official car of the second season of The Jersey Shore Lots of Hair jell, Tecno, and neon

ZumnRx8 02-27-2010 01:13 PM

WTBRotary! 02-27-2010 01:33 PM

I like the way it looks but the wheels shouldnt be on there... It looks sexy as hell but... :(

mike[piston eater] 02-27-2010 01:35 PM

well the new speed threes come with that same design just in 18 and not the gunmetal color

TopGear8 02-27-2010 02:35 PM

The StopTech BBK is nice, but they should have went with Racing Brake ;)

911SC 02-27-2010 03:42 PM

I just wish they would wipe that grin off it's face.

Chad D. 02-27-2010 03:51 PM

I like the black roof/on both of them, but mostly the sedan.

lol let me guess
because the wheels have little rotor shaped thingys that should only be on rotary vehicles?

pdxhak 02-27-2010 05:16 PM

I like the R3 wheels but I do not understand what the big deal is. They are nice but nothing special. They definitely are not worth the price Mazda charges for them. In addition there are a few wheels out there with a similar style so they are not even unique. If I owned a R3 RX8 I would still swap the wheels.

Lets just celebrate that Mazda R&D have some nice taste and maybe they can start making their production cars like this straight off the assembly line. It would definitely sell more. Especially to the younger crowd which after all are the ones picking up MS3's and MS6's. The benefits of them coming like this from the dealer are that nobody will have to worry about voiding warranty:yesnod:
