As far as I can tell the only difference is the front and rear bumper. The US version is less flashy and not quite as aggressive...there also seems to be a difference in the bottom section of the front bumper. The most noticeable part is the foglight housings.

The rear bumper also has some differences.

Not huge but I think the non-US version looks much better. I don't know if there was something regarding crash standards that was different or not. That would be my guess for the differences.

Either way, the Euro-spec version is a real looker. The USDM version not so much.

OK, well not really..

The 2010-2011 (current) Mazda 2 sold in Europe, North America and Australia all use the exact same one piece Front Bumper and Rear Bumper...

DR61-50-031EBB Front Bumper

DF89-50-221GBB Rear Bumper

Here is the version I'd like to have: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_mITHafT-UE...00230576_l.jpg

This is the version I'll actually get:

I've seen the top bumper design referred to as the Euro-Spec on a few aftermarket sites/magazines. If it's not a Euro-spec than it must be for the JDM market.

Either way, the USDM bumper version is rather boring.

I think you will find the one on top with the #2 or transfers on it was/is a Auto Show model...
Cant say I have ever seen anywhere with the larger fog light surrounds..

They (markets) all seem to have the same front bumper treatment, now anyway.

Another shot from a non-USDM market. Same design.

There have been auto show versions with additions to the bumper but the version that has been seen isn't a custom bumper.

This isn't an aftermarket bumper so where is this thing being made?

Dunno...I have looked through the entire Demio (JP) Accessory PDF, nothing there, they only have the current look.

I cant recall the Tokyo motor-show (like Sema) tuner stuff, Auto something, where I think these were shown/avalable...like a JDM Mazdaspeed version (which is no longer available for the 2 or Demio domestically, only now in the MS RX-8 and MS MX-5)

Was it M-Tune Factory or something like that in Japan...I will sleep on it..

Japan Parts might know?

The only other location that produces the 2 is Thailand...and China

the other markets had a different front from what was launched in the US but since then i believe all of those markets have had facelifts to the US version.

The Mazdaspeed concepts have a different bumper design if you look. They seem to use a similar USDM style with a splitter.

If you look at the article posted by D-Sport they say "The more aggressive design of the Euro-spec front bumper creates a look that makes the car stand out without being gaudy..."

I've seen other mentions of the same on some of the vaguely posted forums as well.

I'm not looking to argue :-). I'm just curious if/where this bumper design is available. It looks just as good as a body kit and probably would come pre-painted.

I really only think they were for Auto Shows..

I had a look on my European Mazda EPC on-line, UK and Germany and Part Numbers are the same as the Australian Spec Mazda 2 for Front and Rear Bumper Bars.

They are the latest and official EPC's..

Even the first 2007 DE model Mazda 2 does not show any other "type" of Bumper, Fog or Bezels other than what you have seen listed.

Nothing like the larger shaped Fog Lights..

I don't have a Japanese EPC.

I really believe these were made/fabricated for Auto Show cars (exhibition) and not used on general production line.

The only exclusions to this IMO could be the earlier Demio models sold in Japan.
I remember the Mazdaspeed 2 "accessories" from Japan was download-able, but I cant recall content or find an active link..

As of now they (Mazda Japan) does not have a Mazdaspeed link on their homepage, apart from the RX-8, MPV and Roadster (MX-5).

Nice find.

I do wish this car came with projector headlights. People are going to hate me when I put 5k HID's in here soon.

I love C&D's Save the Manual's campaign and their reasons why owning a manual is better than an auto.
