Here's a good one for those of you with some imagination and Photoshop - I was thinking, what will/would the new Mazda 9 look like. A larger 6? Maybe some hints of the 8 or the past Millenia? Or better yet, what will the powerplant be? Maybe an optional 3-rotor Renesis with a supercharger? It would have to be a nice full-size sedan with RWD (since all the past 929's have kept this tradition)... but I hope they don't just stick another re-worked Ford engine in there. How about a V-8 from Mazda...

 

If there is a Mazda 9 I think it should fill the gap the Millennia left. And what better way to fill that gap than to sell a Cosmos style sport/luxury sedan with a 3 rotor renesis.

 

If there is a Mazda 9, it gotta be a sedan, may be a near-luxury sports sedan so kind of replacing the outgoing Millenia and 929. It must have a 3.3L+ V6 engine producing 250+hp, RWD, providing navigation system and HIDs.

 

I STRONGLY doubt that they will ever put a 3 rotor renesis into anything other than a sports car, if at all. I would love to see it though. I have heard all kinds of crazy rumors about the mazdaspeed 8 being supercharged, turbo'ed, or having an enlarged renesis made to rev to 14,000 rpms. Hopefully we will eventually see all three.
