Did you noticed that there are three oil nozzles per rotor?

I would like one more nozzle per rotor for my renesis too!

If you want to come by some time I'll be glad to show you the dry sump system. How's your Saturday looking ?

This looks nice, hopefully it will work as good as it sounds. Only thing I dont like that much is the direct injection. Not that I dont like it completely its just that I have been reading a lot on the mazdaspeed3 forums and fuel is a big issue for them, specificalle the low pressure they get at high rpms and the erratic throttle response they are getting from the computer.

16x renesis

I would love to know where BMonkey found those photos of the 16x, nice shots! Rumors abound, will it go into a concept car? Or the next RX-7? Or the 2011 RX-8? Would be tempted to acquire this as a crate motor, install it into current 04 RX-8, is it possible? Or financially impossible?

16x renesis, continued:

Are there any articles from late '09 into this year about this new power plant?

The only recent articles that matter are the ones that state that they have not as yet achieved their goals with this engine .

I've got a couple of questions for you guys...

Are these additional holes for Spark Plugs that have been filled in...? Just curious.

What are these? I thought injectors...?

I figured since this thread was bumped and no new info was given, figured I'd throw some questions out.

Extra spark plug hole? no clue... maybe!? (good idea if you ask me for a more efficient burn)

The second ones are the oil injectors for the apex seal lubrication. 1 for the center and 2 for the sides of the seal (like the 09+ Renni).

to reddozen:

your '04 RX-8 is a SE3P, not what you said. if you refer to your car as a 'PU', you don't appreciate it enough. 'Nuf said.

Nah

I see what you're saying. if its really a bridge, the port wont open right at the edge of the housing.

too many problems with bridge port on a street rotary, unless the Fed is ok with 1.2K stock idle speed.

Mazda 16X engine coomplete details from Mazda

Whether we ever see this in production or not, here is Mazda's explanation of the changes in rotary technology for their 16X engine. Be sure to click on "details" for detailed explanations of all the technology points. Very informative ! Sorry for the typo in the heading. don't know how to correct that.

Merged into an existing 16X thread since it really isn't anything new.

That has been linked on the site before, many times. It shows up typically every time someone claims the rotary is dead and Mazda abandoned it, and that site is linked as "proof" that until Mazda takes it down they aren't done with the engine. That site has been around since at least 2010, if not earlier.

Here is another 16X tech discussion thread: https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-media-n...ations-129838/
