Longer 350z
Yeah.... in 2005 they will make a LONGER wheelbase... LONGER body... LONGER FENDERS... and its wider... the wheel base is 7-10 inches longer... and 2-3 inches wide... i saw it in the ROAD AND TRACK Magazine at the Libarary... its in the future models... it has a PICTURE....
Oh yeah the 350Z is TYPE E... JAPAN will have it 100%.. U.S. Most likely 75%... i hope they make it looks sweet... longer and WIDE...

It's basically just a Z with a body kit and like 10 more hp.
The way the front and rear overhangs stick out so much at the bottom make the car literally look like a slug.

Upcoming four seat 350Z!
They may be making it longer to accomadate a rear seat equipped model like they did with the 240Z/260Z. They were available in two seat and a four seat version distinguishable by a longer roof line.
I think they are trying to make it more competitive with the RX-8.
Let the flame wars begin!

i don't think the wheelbase is longer, but i could be wrong. i thought it's only the front and rear, as in the front bumper was extended and rear had pronounced splitter/spoiler like those long-tailed race cars. the alibi is that this is what the jgtc race car is based on

We'll I may be talking out the ***, but I think that all Nissan is trying to do is use the same chassis for all their cars like they do with the engine. And the current wheelbase isn't long enough to support the lets say altima.
I don't think there trying to build a better sports car.

Geez, if there was something I could change on the Z, it would be to make it slimmer. I loved it when it first came out but after seeing a bunch of it everyday, it looked fatter and fatter each time. I mistakenly thought one was a lowered SUV, but when I looked at it closer I found out that it was a Z! That's how bad it is. It needs a serious diet.

The wheelbase is longer... and it is wider... the road and track magazine stated it would be available in 2005 in japan... and possibly makes it way to the US..
Also... Pontiac GTO will have a 2004.5 mid-year makeover... it had a pic of it... man does it look like crap.... Aztek front on a GTO... yea that nasty...

The chassis IS ALREADY used in most everything. Its the FM chassis (I think), and its used in the 350, g35 for sure, possibly the marano, the fx and others.
That said I agree with s13lover, the only reason to lengthen the wheelbase is for a 2+2. But i dont think they're going to do it (here in the US).

I doubt it will come to the us. It would be $60k USD. It is just wider front fender flares, and a long *** front and rear bumper. Looks ugly. It is in Road and Track this month.

That GTO pick, was a drawing submitted by a reader as a joke. Man, you are nuts; plus this Z is just like the new Masserati supercar that is modeled after the Enzo. Nissan has to produce atleast 30, so it can race them in the GT competition racing. It isn't a longer chassis, just a bodykit that makes it longer with long overhangs. The Z refresh will come in 2006, nothing new till now.
