Just because you have the money for it doesn't mean you get it. I have a friend who is very well off. Know what he drives? A 2002 Jeep and a 2000 nissan pickup (2 door, the small one).
I think when we're all young, we tend to want flashy. As we get older, we come to understand that there are reasons to play things low key. Some people never figure it out, while others never need to. |
^^ that's not what I'm trying to say............I never said every rich man was generous/stupid enough to spend/waste 300K on a car.
I'm just saying just cuz you own a house that is worth 500K or you're a CEO at some company doesn't necessarily mean you have some mad extra money lying around to buy a brand new lambo or some exotic car....... anyway..... I'm done here.......lol...this is getting us nowhere.............. peace! |
heh. has discussing/arguing stuff on the internets on a car forum ever gotten anyone anywhere?

In my opinion, the only supercar that is both exotic in style and is has truly race-derived engineering is the Porsche Carrera GT, clearly derived from the GT1 LeMans racecar.
Do your own reading and watching.....but the beautiful race-derived V-10, the unparalleled ceramic clutch system, ceramic brakes (Porsche was the first company to make them work on a streetable car), the revolutionary forged magnesium wheels.....I could go on an on. And just LOOK at the thing. Exquisite. Attachment 120903 Note: I'm not excluding Ferrari per se....I know they make brilliant cars. But why were they making V8 and V12 street cars for decades while racing in V10 powered F1 cars? There was just one too many steps in the racetrack-street translation, in my opinion... |

I saw a yellow and black one on the interstate Friday afternoon. There was a 18-wheeler cruising in the lane just to the right of it which made the Smart look way out of place. I have an open mind when it comes to cars but I couldn't help but laugh. It looked like the driver could reach out and touch the headlight with one hand and touch the taillight with the other if it weren't for the glass. |

That's my dream SUPERCAR... The Porsche Carrera GT!

Gemballa Carrera GT owns all. Oh, and there is rich, and then there is rich. My boss has six cars total and lives in a $3,000,000.00 home but he is a pauper compared to my friends boss who flies around in his personal helicopter and Jet. It's all about what you own, not what you can make payments on.

Well, my buddy rode along in a Superleggera at Mosport earlier this month. I watched from the pit wall nursing my broken collar bone :banghead:.
All I can say is that racing pedigree or not, awd or rwd, it doesn't much matter, that thing went like all hell, and both the driver, and my friend, had enormous grins on their faces when they got out. Hell, I was giggling on the sidelines. Thats about all you can ask for. |
