LOL! Amazing. I'm putting that in my sig (in a good way, because its funny not because its stupid)

mysql 05-17-2008 10:58 PM

it's funny because it's true.

did you see the photos of the race car driver and his model girlfriend? They were toasty critters.

mysql 05-17-2008 11:12 PM

there's a bunch of sites like this:

Lol at the hatin in this thread... I mean c'mon guys I love the RX-8 just as much as anybody else, but a Lambo - any lambo - is going to smoke the majority of vehicles in this world, and look really really good doing it. Is there any car more beautiful inside and out than the Reventon?

Lamborghini has no racing pedigree? Well gee they sure are quick...

Car looks great, If they dont have any racing history, big deal, it's still a sweet looking, exotic car.

DOMINION 05-18-2008 05:27 AM

Lots of Exotic Cars dont have racing crap for dilldos about back grounds, psst big deal, people still buy them.

bse50 05-18-2008 08:33 AM

if i were to buy another car of that range it would be an old, real ferrari like the 330 p3 (or p4) or a maserati mc12, i know there were only 12 made but come on, racing pedigree that you can't find on a lambo, to quote mysql... i really think that counts in a way. Also, lamborghini makes 4x4 cars and that's not sporty. That's why i'd go for the mc12 and not the reventon for example.

Catspaw 05-18-2008 12:59 PM

How is AWD not sporty? What do you feel about Porsche then? And if "racing pedigree" was all that, we'd all be driving Hondas.

I mean seriously, look at this car and tell me that it's not a work of art. It's a stealth fighter on wheels!

ShAdOwFoX 05-18-2008 02:00 PM

Reventon ftw

mysql 05-18-2008 02:08 PM

I can see why some of you don't get it.

A lambo with a body kit that isn't faster than the other lambos, doesn't warrant amazing.

But it does have daylight running lights!

Actually that specific lambo is faster than just about anything mazda, ferarri, or ford has out including the GT. It's hardly just a body kit, and its significantly faster than any other lambo ever built.

it's got the same 0-60 time as the LP640, which costs 300k.

So by my reckoning, that's a 1.2 million dollar body kit. And you get 17 hp more than the standard LP640. Remind me never to have you recommend anything to me :P

mysql 05-18-2008 02:29 PM

woops. looks like it's only 10 hp more. I need to bring this up next time someone complains about NA mods being expensive for the RX-8.

Catspaw 05-18-2008 03:18 PM

It seems to me that you're the one not getting it. Fine, forget the Reventon and let's compare the "standard" LP640.... heck take the base Murci; they're all amazing cars by any standard, the epitome of what a supercar should embody.

Now in my personal opinion I would prefer an Aston Martin Vantage or Audi R8, but I can definitely still appreciate Lambo.

haters are going to hate, why are you even participating in this argument out of pricing between an inexpensive sporty car vs a super car? these supercars are obviously not targeted for them. lets not turn a thread meant to celebrate this car into bitter bickering

Id take ferraris over lamborghini most of the time, but i sure admire them for their performance and styling

That might be true but hey, you pay a lot of money for a lambo with audi interiors and mechanic. That sucks imho.
Ferrari is part of FIAT, right but a part from some minor interior details the whole technical section is engineered by Ferrari.
And then, relating to the 4wd stuff i'm sure it can be amazing but the feeling you get from driving a serious rwd is totally different and way more satisfactory.
I own an old '87 gtb turbo, 255whp on a 2l turbo engine, about 300 built. I know it hasn't got much power but driving a mid engine-rwd with that heritage is something unique, a feeling you don't get close while driving a 4wd car, obviously in my opinion.
Then, to the reventon again: you posted a pic and that's fine but what about the mc12?

According to various reviewers, the AWD system in the Murci is pretty unsophisticated, and if it were simply RWD, it'd be lighter and handle more predictably and be an all-around better car.

And Honda has never won LeMans.

I think Id rather trust the team of word class engineers than some random dude on an internet forum whether AWD is better than RWD for that car.

Don't know what's so bad about Audi interiors. And ask all the other cars chasing the Audis tail lights at le Mans about the mechanicals.

Watch the video I posted in this thread of the Gallardo SL owning a R35 GT-R and a 997 Turbo. Then watch the second video of the Murcielago posting a faster lap time than the Pagani Zonda and Koenigsegg, and then come back and tell me about how unsophisticated Lambo's AWD is.

exactly audi interiors are among the best out there,

I just find it funny on one hand these guys are all hardcore about lack of racing history and pureness of RWD vs AWD, then they cry about interiors. :)

I haven't driven one, I was merely mentioning what I've read. But while we're here, how's this: the Murcielago is 17th around the Nordschliefe, beaten by all of the above mentioned cars as well as a Corvette Z06 and two kit cars. How's that for sophistication, fanboi?

I too never doubt the infallibility of engineers. Because it's expensive and big it's impeccably designed, just like the Tappan-Zee bridge, right?
