No roll over protection afaik.

[quote]Searched for "Solstice" and didn't see this posted so... It's a neat little car.[/QUOTE}

Don't you even think about trading your RX8 in on one of these. The guy in the next office has one, and rides like ass.

:spank:

lol :) No way I'd pay what they're asking for those - my next car will be 'cooler'.

:D

BTW - The New trans. for my car will be in next week - might have my car back by next friday.

Nemesis8 06-29-2007 12:23 PM

OK, I feel better now. You had me worried.

Before I replace my RX8, I'll run it by you, Kev. :D

Seriously. :D

:beers:

ZoomZoomH 06-29-2007 12:27 PM

you'd think people would be more cautious (ie drive SLOWER) when driving in a convertible, keep the shiny side up!!

Steakboy42 06-29-2007 12:42 PM

Someone should get on there and tell her that wheels go down. lol.

Hey, did I see the word "Matchbox" on the bottom of the car?

She is very lucky to still have a head.
Lol in her original post she talks about upgrading to the GXP with the insurance money.

I have a feeling history will repeat itself here.

You do see that from time to time, but more so Solstice vs. MX-5, or Solstice GXP vs. Boxster.

A good friend has a Solstice, which is how I got on that forum. Except for the weight, I think it's a good car. The GXP, direct injection platform, I like but not for me. I'm too much of a rotor head, and I don't like convertibles.

MazdaMonkey 06-29-2007 01:03 PM

Oh and incase anyone is wondering the windshield in the MX-5 is designed as the primary roll bar, and can withstand close to 5000 pounds

I was, they banned me for calling it the Assfire one too many times.

I'd think somebody would make $$ developing a roll bar for the car.

Have you driven the dragon before?

I know from first hand experience that some of those gravel shoulders are extremely dangerous. just a couple rocks out in the road would be enough to send your tail end sliding even if you didn't take the turn too wide. Luckly i didn't end up like her. The best driver in the world only has to slip up once on a road like the dragon to end up up side down like she did.

I've fished tailed on the dragon just by having my tire contact the road paint going through a turn. Granted they had re painted the lines that morning.

RedSheDevil 06-29-2007 01:22 PM

haha, did you see this guy's post? I guess someone went on there and posted how the A-pillar should have held up better to give the passengers some more headroom to survive rollovers.

Here was the response: http://www.solsticeforum.com/forum/s...&postcount=121

Congratulations! You get the "Michael Moore/Josef Goebbels Propaganda Award For Selective Editing".

It is very arrogant of you to come on here and pretend you know jack **** about the design of any of these 3 cars, or the strenth of the windshield pillars of any of these 3 cars, or the speed and orientation and height of travel and dynamic forces involved in any of these 3 accidents.

Beyond that, you are an arrogant SOB to do so under color of trying to "help" the people here, when the only purpose for your post is to slam the design of the Solstice.

I want an apology for your arrogance and an admission that you have no clue how strong any of the windshield pillars are on any of these cars and you are just guessing out your ass.

That said, here are some selective pictures I also found that, according to your ignorant method, show how weak and unsafe the windshild designs are for the S2000 and Miata. And to beat all I'M USING THE SAME STINKING SOURCE for my Miata pictures that you used here...

This clearly shows how you manipulated your post to show only photos that would make it seem the S2000 and Miata windshield frames would stand up to anything. You stinking liar. HOW DARE YOU pick out only the photos to "make your point" when there is a BUNCH of photos on that site showing windshields crushed just as badly as the one on the Solstice in this tread.

Man, you are a royal, flaming, died-in-the-wool scumbag.

You are a real jerk for hi-jacking this thread for your own propaganda purposes. A real jerk and a clueless, ignorant jerk to boot.

Man you are such alow-life SOB with a lot of audacity and very low character. Burn in hell you SOB.

The Moderators may have to tone down my post because I'm not in the mood to right now. My apologies to anybody I offended, but this ******* has gone so far below acceptable behavior for anybody on a forum, I can't see straight right now.

Trolling, troll baiting -- all's fair. But trying to slander a car's design on a thread where a person is not even over the shock of having wrecked their car is just lower than low. Real SOB. Real arrogant, egotistical SOB.

scsi 06-29-2007 01:23 PM

i wanna drive the dragon

hough2696 06-29-2007 01:36 PM

Wow, I wonder if that guy had a stroke after that post?!!!

Detrich 06-29-2007 01:49 PM

HumpdyDumpdy 06-29-2007 01:51 PM
