My mom is probably looking at trading her car in in a few months--what are your guys opinions on these cars--she currently has an SLK230.
SLK350
Jaguar XK8 Convertible
CLK500
CLK320
My favorite of those is the XK8--she really has no clue what she wants.

I like the CLK and have been doing research...the CLK 430 is what my wife wants instead of the RX-8. Of course if I was looking at new ones and could afford it, then I would say the CLK500.

She wants a sportier car and does not like what Lexus, Acura, or Infiniti have to offer. She doesn't want a sedan or SUV. She is not a big fan of the previous design CLKs--and preowned 03 CLK500s have been going for mid to high 40Ks around here.

If she's going to look at the Jag, that's a fairly big price jump, they start at around $70K. At the $70K plus range I'd be looking at other cars. My favorite is new 911. But for your mom, I'd pick the SL500 over the Jag.

Well--she'd get a 02-03 XK8 if she got one--cause the SL500 is her top pick--but 77K-90K is a big jump. Meanwhile my dad has his own scheme for next year--he plans on selling his Grand Cherokee and getting a cheap SUV and a 911--probably a 996 model though. My step brother is trading his Boxster S for the new 997 Convertible.

i say go for the SLK350... i drive a CLK320 myself(the older version) and it 's not bad... but perdonally i don't like the styling of the old one and really don't like the styling of hte new one... but hte SLK is a different story... it just looks so argressive in the front.... and hey u get to play with the hard top too!!

Your parents must be kickass rich. Nice.
I'd go with the SLK350. I feel dirty.

lol--I wouldn't say that--my dad is a Porschephile at heart--and so is my stepbrother--but he lives in L.A. with his wife/baby son. It'll be interesting to see what happens when my dad slips into a 911--he is looking at a '01 or so--but that is maybe a year off.
