Ken Block Leaves Subaru?!?!
^^^Agreed, it won't be an easy transition, the competition is a lot tougher than compared to Rally America. I Think it will take him at least the better part of, if not a full season to be near the podium.
I think it's so funny how some people are getting all bent out of shape about it. Ken will drive the hell out of any car. Just so happens he started with Subbies. But with them pulling out of WRC they couldn't offer what Ford put on the table. He's already confirmed a Gymkana 3 with the Fiesta. I'm excited for this, it's a great opportunity and if he does well maybe more Americans will get in on it too.

Block will take his bumps and he knows this, hell he even said so in the article. This is huge for him, ford and American Rally. Even if he runs mid pack for the next 2 or 3 seasons, it will help Ford out a ton, as well as create a bigger fan base for WRC and the ARC. This is a good thing. Good luck Ken. I for one can't wait to see the racing this season!
Although, I agree that this is good for rallying in the US. God knows I would fly anywhere in the states to see a rally.
Another thing is coverage is so limited here that we will be lucky to see more than a few seconds of Ken racing during each rally =/
Edit - unless he is top of the pack each race!

Yeah, being as Ford and Citroen are the only two manufactured backed teams in the WRC this next season so far that I know of, working for Subaru in WRC is out of the question. Hopefully Subaru will return soon and it would be nice to see other manufacturers back in as well. Ford was testing it's Fiesta rally cars up at Pikes Peak this last summer and Marcos Gronholm was even there but unfortunately, I didn't get to go last year.

Ford was running the Focus in the 2009 WRC. I'll bet, with Ken's involvement, the US will have better coverage of the events (eg. SpeedTV, ESPN).
WRC coverage was supposedly coming to Discovery HD by now. Does anyone have this channel that can confirm this? I would order it if it's true and decent coverage. For now I will continue to get WRC coverage the same way I get Top Gear - torrent based downloads.
^ Yes the broadcasting is delayed but I do not know how much. I was able to watch the last half of the season at the end last year
It IS in HD too, looks very good

Good for Ken, but I'm caring less about WRC because it looks like another year of just Ford and Citroen and NO MONTE CARLO RALLY. I'm only watching to see if Petter Solberg gets a good run.
Subaru is entering Intercontinental Rally Series with Abarth (Fiat), Honda, Skoda, Ralliart(Mitsubishi), Peugeot and VW. And they're hitting up the Monte.
