If you had twice the money for a car

Enough of this about what kind of car you would buy if you had a billion dollars. What car would you buy if you could spend twice what you paid for the RX-8? (Or, sigh, the WRX?)

uh..just how expensive was your RX8? Both of those are $50K or less?

I'm thinking....M3...or something else which seats 4. Perhaps the next Mustang Cobra? oh! Late model M5. That's probably it.

I'd take a few month or years off, would buy a machine shop and build my own Hayabusa killer.

M3. Maybe an S4, Vette, or even GS430.

Or RX-8 and turbo it plus do some of the mods that devoid did (body kit, removed door handles, different color in cabin lighting, stereo set up, computer set up).

I think I'd lean toward the modded RX-8 because it's just cool to have a car not like anyone else's.

for an everyday car, I would go with an M3, but for a weekend driver I would go with a C6

I'd buy an Elise and get a used Subaru of some type for my winter car.

I could see myself getting an elise too, along with something that could tow a car.

Are you expecting problems with the Elise?

I would buy a used Lotus Esprit! Best looking car in that price range IMO.

Either still and 8 and have a lot for mods, or go straight to a C6.

Probably a C6.

Probably the upcoming Audi RS4 (414 hp), Or Corvette if I had to spend low $60K's. If I wanted a convertible, probably the Mercedes AMG SLK 55.

Not particularly in Southern California.

I've seen plenty of C6s, plenty of bimmers (all kinds), a fair share of M3s, a couple S4s, a lot of porsches (old and new, esp new Cayennes), SC430s... sheesh. I mentioned this in another thread but I went to eat once 10 miles away from where I live. I just went there and back. This isn't quite typical but I wouldn't be surprised if it happened again. On my way there and back the following cars caught my eye: 2 M3s, 2 S4s, 1 Viper, 1 Ferrari, 2 STis. I'm sure there were more 50K plus cars but I don't particularly remember. This is in Orange County (Irvine).

People are just too goddamn rich here.

If I had twice the money I would keep my eight as my daily driver and get an FD and spend $10k to make it a weekend/autocross/track car.
