Holy crap I'm in love! The basic kit is $20,000 but obviously you need to source many many thousand more in other parts. This is a beautiful car though. I'd love to see a nice 4 rotor in the back of this thing. It would have the sound to match the looks.

Wow i must agree. I for some reason truely LOVE mid engine cars. i dont know what it is but they give me anyways i wonder what it would take to get a car like that up and running with even the 20b. hmmm i must resist the wife would kill me. i must save my money for our house when we move to lower 48.

I think dropping a rotary in there would be cheaper than the LS1 I think. Since the car is only 2250lbs I think a renesis would do the job for that car nicely.

WOW! I can not believe this! This looks like a real possibility for the average Joe Shmoe.

Does anyone know if this car is street legal? I am assuming it is considering 1) air conditioning and 2) License plate. I would love to be able to drive it on the street though.

I don't think the Renisis would be a good match though...not enough power. Although it is so lite that it still would be quick. Maybe if it had a Turbo but that fab work would be crazy expensive...Then again your already dumping some major dough. I would prefer to add a 20B but the problem is would the Porshe tranny mate with the 20B?

I've been drooling over this thing for about a year! They just tested the LS7 prototype in Grassroots Motorsports magazine, and they say the things an absolute monster. In first gear, the tires simply won't grab. And that the whole thing, including kit, donor car, and crate motor, weighed in at about $65k. And this thing can outrun Enzos! Simply incredible. Can you imagine a sub-3-second 0-60 run for less than a C6 'Vette?

The red one is nice, but the black is so mean.
They say that it cost between $40K up to $60K to complete the build, with about half the money going to the driveline and paint. If you really thinking about build this, I suggest that you buy the manual for $50. I founded great site that sales donor C5 Corvettes, I will have to post it later.

I want to see a Twin screw supercharged 20B in the back. Nothing too crazy. 500 hp is fine.

With 500+ hp you should go 0-100 in 7 seconds. You should go the forum , some people are talk about 900hp twin turbo LS6 motors. I find kind of funny, because with that much power I doubt they will find traction. Also I have been hearing rumors about a track version that may come out in the fall

This is why I think a rotory may be better suited for this application. Less torque in the lower rpm range. Should make for less wheel spin.

As much as I love rotaries, I'd just go with the LS7 they suggest. It's your 500 horsepower with ease of installation and reliability.

But's that not a rotary. Piston engines just aren't cool to me. Rotaries are. Therefore that eliminates the use a piston engine if I were to build one. As powerful as the LS engines are, it's still got the sound of an American V8 and I am not a fan of the way our V8's sound. An Italian V8 on the other hand is how a V8 should sound! You can probably tell that I'm not a muscle car fan.

This may sound strange but if I were to use a piston engine in that car, it would be an Audi V10 or V12 turbo diesel.

Here's the info on that K1 Attack. The website details are severely lacking but it apparently uses a V6 and runs to 60 in about 5.5 seconds or so. No pricing information. It definitely isn't in the same class as the GTM. It is a car that is more reminiscent of a Lotus. I'm not saying it wouldn't be fun. I'd still take one.

I haven't heard an LS7 in person, and have heard only video/sound clips of Italian V8's, so I can't comment directly on that. But the thought crossed my mind as well to have a V12 in there. I think a Ferrari 599 crate motor might add a little to the price, though...

And for me, the GTM just doesn't look like a rotary car. It looks like it needs a V12, but if not I'll have mine with a V8 with comparable power. If I was going to throw a rotary into something, it'd have to be smaller more nimble-looking like an Ariel Atom or a Lotus Elise. Or a motorcycle. Somewhere you need a lot of power out of a small space.

I could definitely see one in that K1, though.

The K1 would probably be a very nice car to put a rotary in. Even a Renesis would probably work very well.

To me the GTM just doesn't look like a car that should have a V8 growl to it. It needs a more sonorous engine note. If you've ever heard a multirotor engine you'll understand why I feel they would be at home on one. Could you imagine the sound of the 787B coming out the back of that thing! That would be pure sex on wheels!
