I prefer the fuzzy seats on the R1. www.robrobinette.com has a list of reliability mods. Personally, I'd go for turboback exhaust, a non-sequential conversion, and some kind of engine management. One guy on rx7club blew his motor because he had a few mods on stock engine management. He boosted on a particularly cold day (denser air) and the motor blew when .

How does it ride, by the way?

not everyone has +$12k to spend on newly bought used car... a single isn't absolutely necessary for reliability, and engine management especially not if you don't intend on upping the horsepower very much. it's still fast at 250.

but duh, if anyone could, they would.

amazing find. Like others have said, do some reliability mods and watch the temp/boost gauge. If the car sat for extended periods the coolant seals might be on their way out. And remember: Redline a day keeps the carbon away!

Its part of the chassis code that Mazda uses.

When a new rx7 was designed, they changed the code to reflect the new chassis.

The name RX7 never changed for years (until now) so it is easier to explain what type of RX7 you are rererring to by the code.

The RX8 is actually FE, but since its its not an RX7.....we just call it by it real name.
