Honda has best reliability rating

http://money.cnn.com/2004/12/08/pf/a...ex.htm?cnn=yes

Not surprising really, but still kind of neat.

The link is to a "retained value" not "reliability" cnn link.

I'm not sure it is as "reliable" as they once were. Uncle has a 2004 Accord that is a problem and a 2004 MDX too. But retained value..yes.

You're right, I guess I used the wrong word, but to me they sort of go hand in hand. If the car is reliable and doesn't break as often as others it will retain it's value. I have ADD sometimes and forget what I'm doing and write the first thing that comes to my mind. I apologize :D

Honda just kicks butt...year in...year out, WHAT A CAR COMPANY

If I owned or started a car company I would try to beat...

Honda in quality & reliablity
BMW & Mazda in fun factor
Chevy in fuel economy
Audi in interior quality, feel, design
Ferrari in looks

Honda is a great company!

Why Chevy for fuel economy? Toyota and Honda both have significantly better fuel economy when you take ALL products into account. How about Chevy/Ford in brand loyalty?

Well...yeah, but the way they get so much fuel economy from a BIG OL V8 is what impresses me more than a hybr that is designed to get better fuel economy. But, OK...Chevy for sports car fuel economy and HONDA/Toyota for normal car fuel economy

I've heard the opposite. Honda "did" have the best reliability...but in the past 5 or 6 years its been dropping like a rock. The old car's are rocks...the new ones are meh.

Did you not check out the link? LOL

Naaa, I have not heard about any problems with their engines. You know what...other car companies need to drop their ego's and see WHY Honda engines are so GREAT, I know I would like to know.

Nah I've checked the link, I've just seen reports to the contrary from other sites...including consumer reports. Remember can't ever look at one site for all the info...gotta throw them all together and look at it as a whole to cancel out possible bias. To get a better overall picture, look at all their ATX problems across the Acura and Honda line. MTX's don't seem to have any issues however.

Just gotta hitup the forums to see all the recall sticky's and failures .

Wait...was does this discussion say reliability and the link say best retained value. I'm so confused now. Someone change the damn topic .

More TSBs than the RX-8? The 8's had its share of TSBs.

Mazda 3 is a Japan built car. The 6 is the one built in the states. I guess Japan must be importing americans to build the 8 and 3?

Good list. I would want my company to beat;

Honda in fuel efficiency and 4 cylinder technology
BMW in 6 and 8 cyl. engine technology, and handling
Mazda in rotary know-how
Acura in interior styling
Audi in exterior styling
Lexus in ***-kissing to make customers happy

OK RX8-79 we can compromise...now all we need to do is find a couple of billions and we are set. Then there is that pesky...you actually need to know what your doing problem, LOL. I think I would be a heck of an auto CEO, exe, leader...etc....but without degrees in the auto industry, no raceing background....who could love me...LOL

RX REnesis,

It isn't. The 3 has NAV and HID's...which are only available on Japan built mazda vehicles. The Mazda 6 is built in the US, and thus doesn't have NAV or HID's, because of union issues.

Its possible that HID/NAV 3's are built in japan, and non HID/NAV 3's are built in the US...but I'm pretty sure they're all coming from Japan.

The MPS 6 is built in Tofu, Japan, and thus will have available NAV and HID's.

IIRC, the Honda Motor Company is the largest producer of engines worldwide. Their V6 engines are great too. They are having a bit of problems with trannys.

As good as Honda is...they actually have consistently had more problems per 100 cars than lexus, infinity, and toyota for the last six years according to consumer reports. So maybe look to lexus for customer *** kissing and reliability. Plus there resale is very high also...especially the SUVs.

They may have the best reliability in cars, but in motorcycles Yamaha takes the cake for most reliable.
