The other night I took my 06 RX8 to the drags.
I seem to be having a hard time getting into 2nd EVERYTIME.It's like
when I shift it in it's not engaging.It engages when the rpm hella drops.
My friends were telling me to check my syncros.Could that be the problem you think?I mean I have no problem with the other gears,only 2nd.Wierd

 

Mine is doing the same thing... I put some Lucas Trans Fix fluid and helped calm the problem down a lot but it is still there... I have to hold the clutch down just a little bit longer through second gear to get the gears to engage.

I'll tryout changing the gear oil.I was thinking that.But I'm hoping
nothing else is wrong with it.

 

Yes, your syncro is messed up. To get it fixed you would need to take it to the dealer, and it should be covered under warranty. Then what you can do is get the Syncro Saver from Fluid Motorsports, it will save you from messing up any more of your syncros.

 

Haha.Thank God it's still under warranty. I wonder what I'm going to tell them cause it's a second hand.Anyways does that syncro saver really work? I mean it looks like I can make it myself.
